Having spent several days searching for a worthy foe along the coast of the Lawless Zone but finding none, Myston has now moved to the swampy Marshlands. the wet, green and humid environ a stark contrast to the serene beauty of the coast. But Myston is getting frustrated now. He came to this planet for a challenge, and his ship's computer detected multiple large-scale creatures here, on this very island.
Why has he come across none? There HAS to be something here that will act as a suitable training partner. All he's been able to fight thus far is a massive arachnid and a swarm of blood-sucking mega-insects. They simply didn't satisfy his need to challenge himself, and test his limits.
Though all this time alone has had benefits as well. He's used it to increase the power of his horn beam. He'd always had the strongest horn beam of any Karmian, and now that lead had been greatly strengthened.
But as Myston let his thoughts wander, a dangerous creature was making its way towards him. The Eunectes Maximus, a member of the largest species of anaconda ever to exist, has targeted Myston for it's next meal. For once, Myston is caught off guard as the Eunectes strikes, coiling itself around him and squeezing the breath out of him in an instant.
Unable to stay on his feet with all the added weight, Myston topples over. Blast! How could he let himself be caught daydreaming like that! It was foolish of him. He couldn't breathe, and if he couldn't breathe, he couldn't summon his spirit energy to fuel his Aura discs. Fortunately for him, his horn beam was a different story.
Aiming at the snake's neck, Myston unleashes the cutting energies, slicing into the neck and causing a smell of burnt flesh to fill the air. But amazingly, the Eunectes Maximus would not relent. IT squeezed harder in fact. Myston knew he had only a few more moments of consciousness left before he passed out. concentrating, he fired his horn beam again at the snake, only moving it to the side this time as it struck. The beam cut into the flesh again, and within seconds, the snake's head was separated from its body, and the coils loosened.
Myston forced them away from him, taking gasping breathes as he did so, and picked up the snake's head. Holding it high, he let out a great war cry that could be heard across the island.

The dwindling herds of prey animals in the islands interior had forced Carcharius in pursuit of prey in his native ocean habitat. But while passing through the marshlands for the second time, a powerful scent caught his attention. Blood, and lots of it. The mutant shark pursued the source of this scent, his hunger never satisfied for more than a moment.
Standing before him was a creature he did not recognize, but that smelled clearly like a possible food source. The dead snake didn't factor in to this one. Soon, instinct overwhelmed any sense of caution as the mutant burst from the undergrowth, bellowing an answering challenge to the monster before him. Myston would never know what hit him.

Myston whirled around as he heard the roar behind him, assuming a basic Karmian fighting stance as he gazed upon its author. A smile crept over his mouth, revealing the dagger-sharp teeth that lined his gums.
"Yeek cha, o'ruk yun jo." He said (At last, a challenger). He eyed it, and observed its movements. It didn't appear to be intelligent like he, rather its movements and eyes suggested it to be more of a beast of instinct. Its muscular body told Myston that it would make an excellent sparring partner. At last.
Assuming a more defensive stance, Myston shouted the traditional Karmian battle cry, "Haruk che ka, ka che haruk!!" (Battle is life, life is battle)

Carcharius ignored the strange noises the alien was making as he lunged forward. Myston was caught slightly off guard by such a foolish attack style, that Carcharius managed to get in the first hit, as he sank his fangs into Myston's thigh. The alien bellowed as Carcharius ripped a chunk of flesh loose, blood commingling with the anti-coagulant he had just pumped in to the wound.
Myston grimaced slightly, but seemed to be relishing the challenge. Carcharius didn't give him pause, though, and tackled Myston to the ground, as the two rolled over and into the shallow water, Carcharius biting and slashing as they went. Myston wasn't one to let this all go easily, as he directed several powerful punches at Carcharius, finally forcing the shark off him with some bruised ribs. But Carcharius wasn't going to focus on his pain anymore. He slashed upwards with the blades on his forearms, lacerating a pair of bleeding wounds on Myston's chest, before lunging in for the kill with a bite directed at the alien's throat...

Myston was amazed at how fast and viciously this thing was attacking. He barely had time to blast it with a horn beam as it came in for another attack. He followed up with an Aura Disc, the energy attack splitting and racking Carcharius' body with explosions as the force from the attack knocked him to the ground.
Levitating his body upward, Myston readies another attack before his enemy has a chance to recover. Streaking downward, his foot outstretched, Myston slams his foot into the downed Carcharius' head, pushing it deeply into the marshy ground before landing gracefully some distance away.
He sighed in frustration. "Heen 'or rukem, cheska makai anto loska." (a shame, I hoped for a challenge). Heading over to Carcharius, he prepared the killing blow. But the shark kaiju burst up, slashing him across the collar with his forearm blades and knocking Myston back.
Myston, nearly on instinct, fired a horn beam at the advancing Carcharius...

In the distance, Baphropod approached. He saw the two monsters fighting and realized that they were in his way. He knew he couldn't avoid them. He would be spotted because of the flat swampy land he was in. He decided that he had to join the battle to gain access to further areas. Baphropod then let out a roar of challenge while he snapped a claw shut to inform the other monsters of his presence.

Carcharius barreled through the laser weapon, oblivious to the damage he was taking. Myston wuld have been able to avoid his frenzied assault with ease, had it not been for the untimely arrival of a gigantic crustacean. With Myston's attention even momentarily diverted, Carcharius managed to grip the alien by the legs, yanking them out from under him before slashing rapidly across the monster's face and torso. Myston bled freely, particularly from his leg, while Carcharius' own wounds were healing as he attacked.
Myston launched a powerful punch at Carcharius, catching him in a nasty uppercut, but it was hardly enough to deter the monster, as he clamped down on Myston's shoulder, taking another chunk of flesh as well as pumping additional anti-coagulant into the alien's system. Whatever this thing was, it bled. The scent was intoxicating Carcharius, driving him to new heights of fury, as he slashed again and again at Myston's face. The alien saurian managed to deliver a few more punches to Carcharius' snout, driving the mutant back momentarily.
Carcharius shook his head as blood leaked from his nostrils, as he took a look at the new monster. It was heavily armored, but not an issue at the moment. And with that, he lunged again at Myston, fangs bared in a snarl...

"Keeyasa!" Myston cursed as he brought his feet up as Carcharius charged in, looking for another bite. Kicking his legs outward as hard as he could, Myston's feet canonned their way into the shark kaiju's jaw, slamming it shut violently and knocking teeth out of it's mouth, as well as sending it flying for a few hundred meters.
Scrambling up to his feet, Myston tossed an Aura Disc and laughed to himself as explosions racked Carcharius again. "Nak yenda forto noseki man fooruk, Keska!" (It appears I'll be letting you live after I crush you after all, my opponent)
Ignoring the pain, Carcharius charged at Myston again just as he was swinging into him with a punch, and caught his forearm in his mouth, the teeth sinking into flesh and anti-coagulant further injecting itself into his bloodstream. Myston closed his eyes and deadened the pain receptors in his body to let him think straight, then brought his knee up into Carcharius' throat...hard. The shark let go, gasping for breath as Myston prepared another Aura Disc, but not before giving a quick glance to the other arrival at the scene, the giant crab creature. He'd have to keep an eye on him. After this fight, he may have to fight it next.
Or, fight them both at the same time.
A roar snapped Myston back from his momentary lapse. Carcharius, still struggling for air from the blow to his trachea, was charging! Sparing not a second, Myston launched his Aura Disc...

The aura disk flew, and hit Carcharius in the left thigh. Baphropod, realizing that the shark creature was injured and not a threat at the time, shot three spines at Myston from his arm. The first two embedded in Myston's side and the third missed. Myston turned toward him and said something in his alien language and then fired a laser at Baphropod's underside. Baphropod blocked with his claws but felt some burn. Baphropod then noticed Carcharius struggling to return to his feet when he was caught off guard. Another laser hit him right in the chest. This time he was knocked backwards and felt lots of pain. His armor had a large burn mark in it.
He looked back at Myston who was running at him with a punch ready. Baphropod blocked the punch with a claw and then hit Myston in the face with a sharp arm spike leaving a deep cut in his right cheek. Then, Baphropod launched another spike from his claw at Myston's neck. The spike hit the side of the neck and caused Myston great pain.
As Myston backed off Carcharius had managed to get up. Carcharius ran at Baphropod mouth open. He wanted a taste of his flesh. The shark, who was still a little dazed from the blow he received from Myston, almost forgot about the tough armor of Baphropod. He closed his mouth in time to avoid biting the armor, but didn't stop running and he ended up tripping over Baphropod's tail. Baphropod then realized that this battle was going to be tough with the saurian and the shark both being worthy opponents. He then brought his tail over the massive blood driven shark creature and aimed his hemotoxin stingers at his torso...

Carcharius snagged the incoming stinger in one taloned hand and yanked, pulling Baphropod off his many legs before flinging him in Myston's direction. The two collided in a tangled heap of limbs and stingers, as Carcharius got to his feet and waded in again. The muck of this marshland environment was quickly turning into a bloody mess as Carcharius latched on to Baphropod and bit into the creature's exoskeleton, seeking the tender flesh beneath it. He didn't even feel it when the crustacean launched a volley of spines into his flank. All he knew was the smell and taste of flesh and blood.
His jaws quested for more of the crustacean's tender flesh after attempting to shatter the exoskeleton, when Myston decked him with a punch to the face. Carcharius whirled around, spitting out more teeth (that would be replaced momentarily), before slashing at Myston with his bladed tailfin. A great laceration appeared across Myston's abdomen as Carcharius lunged forward, ready to take another bite out of the alien saurian...

Myston's plan was to simply use his telekinetic ability to leap back out of the way, but he miscalculated Baphropod's location and tripped over him, allowing Carcharius to sink his teeth into Myston's leg and yank him back down to the ground. With his mouth closing in on him for the killing blow, Myston's arms shot out and grabbed his mouth before it could close.
Aiming carefully, Myston fired a horn beam directly into Carcahrius' mouth, the beam cutting chunks of flesh away as Carcharius retreated away from his would-be meal.
Now to deal with the crustacean. Scrambling to his feet, Myston tossed an Aura Disc at Baphropod, then watched for the result. He'd use the damage done from this attack to extrapolate how tough this new enemy was. That shell didn't look like it was just for show.
True to his suspicions, the Disc did indeed damage Baphropod, but not as much as they damaged other creatures without protective shells. It didn't even seem to stun him for very long, as Baphropod launched a volley of spines that embedded into Myston's shoulder.
Fine, it'll just take a little more force to crack him open. Levitating to the sky, Myston steeled himself a moment before looking over his body. He was soaked in blood, his and Carcahrius'. But his wounds weren't stopping. Even when he wasn't in meditation to recover his battle wounds, he healed quickly. Something was wrong.
Pushing the thought out of his head, Myston dropped down from the sky, fists clenched together, and slammed them with immense force into Bathropod, forcing him down deeply into marsh and creating a small crater that water and mud quickly began to fill up, trapping the stunned Baphropod.
Smiling, Myston clenched his fist and summoned his willpower, preparing to put all his great strength into a single punch, aimed at the creature's head...

Baphropod knew he was about to get hurt, but that didn't bother him, he'd heal later. Myston hit him right above the antennae with all of his force. To his surprise, Baphropod just sunk further into the crater, subtracting from the force of the punch. In fact his armor didn't even crack.
Baphropod sat underwater, stunned, as Myston went back to fight Carcharius. Baphropod recovered from the blow, and slowly crawled out of the water as Myston delivered a kick to Carcharius's stomach.
Baphropod then came up to Myston, who was turned away from him, and injected some hemotoxin from his claw into the spine wound on Myston's neck from earlier. Myston stumbled forward, writhing in pain.
Carcharius just got up from the kick, when Baphropod launched a spine through his bottom jaw. Carcharius roared in pain and drove at Baphropod with great speed as he prepared a bite to the tail. The bite hurt both the crustacean and the shark. Carcharius got a mouthful of spine and flesh. Baphropod shrieked as he watched Carcharius happily enjoy the soft, tasty flesh, oblivious to the damage he was causing his mouth with the spines. He loved the blood too much to notice. Baphropod tackled the feast distracted shark and prepared to rip open his stomach with an open claw...

Carcharius snarled as the claw tore a strip of flesh loose from his gut, but nothing internal was seriously damaged, not that he could feel it one way or the other. However, the prospect of so many targets was driving the shark crazy. baphropod was the closest source of blood and Carcharius attacked it first, sinking his talons into gaps in the armored kaiju's body before squeezing, his claws digging through flesh and muscle alike while Baphorpod shrieked in pain. The mutant shark slammed his jaws shut on a section of exposed flesh and was about to tear it loose, coupled with an anti-coagulant injection, when Baphropod's stinger came in to play, it's hemotoxin injection causing damage to the muscles in Carcharius' flank.
Baphropod used the moment to wriggle free, although the anti-coagulant was hard at work, making sure his wounds kept bleeding. Carcharius was about to pursue, when Myston's bellowing roar caught his attention. the alien saurian was advancing once more. Carcharius lunged at him, dealing a nasty swipe across the alien's chest with his claws, before attempting to sink his fangs into the tender flesh once more...

A quick combination of punches kept Carcharius off balance enough for Myston to avoid his jaws and losing another piece of himself to the shark's gut.
Myston was having a hard time thinking clearly. The Hemotoxin injected into him was causing him great pain, made worse by his inherent Karmian susceptibility to toxins and poisons. Even his ability to deaden the pain wasn't working enough. He needed to concentrate to summon his spirit energy to use his Aura Discs. Until that damned poison worked its way out of his system, he'd have to rely on his other weapons.
Deciding to deal what he hoped would be a crushing blow to Carcharius. Grabbing it in a bear hug, Myston took to the sky. Fighting through the pain, he held Carcharius tightly, keeping his slashing claws at bay, although his mouth was free to bite down on him, a fact he took full advantage of. Once he felt he was high enough (about 1500 feet or so into the sky), he went into a free fall, making sure both of them were pointed head first at the ground.
Finally, about 300 feet from the ground, Myston let go and tucked his body in, going into a roll on the ground as Carcharius struck the Earth head-first his body compacted sickeningly as all his tonnage shifts from the momentum.
Myston gets to his feet shakily, and looks over. Like Baphropod before him, the impact of Carcahrus had created a crater, that water and mud and plant life were now filling up, which would trap him for some time. Myston knew he wouldn't have to worry about Carcharius for a little while, if not for good, after that attack. Even if he recovered, it would take him some time to get out of the muck and back on his feet.
That leaves Baphropod. "Hanule ruk che' hayun, ahk nolun fo chu?" (That thing was an excellent opponent, will you fare better?) he growls. Putting his faith and power into his fist, Myston slammed down on Baphropod's shell again, hoping to crack it. No luck yet, but it'll crack. He just has to work at it.
Myston fires a horn beam at Baphropod's underbelly...

Baphropod had no time to block the attack. He felt searing pain as a thin flake of armor fell to the ground. Now he was mad. He couldn't let his armor to break or Carcharius would be able to get to his flesh a lot easier.
Myston never saw it coming. A volley of spines shot into his foot. Next, into his shoulder. Baphropod finished off his combo with a slice to the shoulder from his left claw. This new wound had also been injected with hemotoxin. Myston was not going to give up though. He caught Baphropod with a powerful uppercut to the face, resulting in a briefly stunned crustacean.
Baphropod watched as the poisons finally got to Myston and caused him to fall over into the muck. He wasn't dead. In fact all he needed was some time to let the poisons bleed out of his system. This process would be faster because of the anti-coagulant.
Baphropod went to the shark's crater to check for any signs of life. Just as Baphropod looked into it, Carcharius sprung at him with great speed. The giant shark clawed and bit at the armor furiously, damaging himself more by rubbing against the spines.
Carcharius was completely unaware of his surroundings now, just the scent of blood and flesh. With one swift swipe Baphropod knocked Carcharius off of his feet. Carcharius quickly jumped up, snarling and clawed blindly at the air.
Baphropod then prepared a spine to impale Carcharius in the chest...
