It's been several days since the destruction of the Alliance war machine Blaradon, and with it, the entire city of Tokyo. Musashi nearly committed Seppuku due to the shame, but decided against it when he saw the nearly dead Solranous in need of help. Musashi has since carried his body far away from the nuclear poisons that permeated the air, so he could heal and regenerate properly. Musashi's own wounds were pretty bad as well, and he was in need of recovery.
But now, he's feeling much stronger. Most of his strength has returned, and he's gathering food now, both for himself, and more then that for Solranous. Sol has been doing much better himself, his arm is growing back, slowly, and the various slashes, gashes, and burns have healed for the most part.
Returning from a successful hunt, Musashi brings the bodies of a horde of dead woodland creatures back to where he and Solranous have been staying, and places them at the sleeping warrior's side. When he wakes, he can eat. Musahi himself sits down and grabs a deer from the pile, using his power over fire to quickly cook the deer to his liking, then popping the whole thing in his mouth. He relects on how since becoming this giant beast, he craves meat far more then he ever did when he was a human so many, many years ago.
In the middle of this reflecting, Musashi sensed something. It was a feeling he'd gotten rather familiar with. It was a Shadow Portal opening. Standing and summoning a bow and several arrows, he took aim at whatever was coming out of the portal. As soon as he saw movement, he let the arrow fly. But the Night Watcher was to fast and avoided the arrow, scuttling in and leaping at Musashi before he could shoot another. The creature wrapped it's tail around his neck, attempting to absorb his life force.
"AYE!" he roared, blasting the Night Watcher off of him. The vile creature screeched loudly and leaped back at Musashi, waking Solranous up. Musashi was knocked back, and the Night Watcher went after Solranous, sensing a wounded prey to be easier then one that had it's full strength.
But the Night Watcher had failed to realize that, Solranous, even wounded, was a formidable foe. He stood up, and swatted the Night Watcher with his tail, right into the waiting Yari of Musashi. One slice from the weapon was all it took to cleave the beast nearly in two. And, of course, kill it.
As with all Shadow creatures, the Night Watcher disolved into a puff of shadowy smoke upon its death, leaving no indication it was even there, other then two kaiju with adrenaline running through their veins.

Solranous chuckled a bit, sitting back down after his slight aid in helping Musashi kill the Night Watcher.
"Talk about a rude awakening." he quipped jokingly, laughing to himself a bit. The dragon soon noticed the pile of meat that Musashi had brought. Giving a deep bow to the samuri in gratitude, he took some for himself, blinking a bit.
'I wonder if I've gotten it back yet...' he mused, trying to draw upon one of his lost powers.
To his relief, flames appeared in his free hand which he used to cook the meat, much like Musashi had, and consumed it quickly, enjoying the meal.
"Thank goodnes... Not only am I healing... I've gotten some of more of my lost powers back..." the dragon mused aloud, not noticing that he had failed to keep it within his thoughts.

Solranous looked up and saw Musashi staring at him. Then he tapped his head, indicating he wished to speak to Solranous. With some effort, Sol was able to open their minds to each other, like he had during the Blaradon battle.
"Why don't you use your voice, I've heard you speak before." he asked.
"I speak only one language, the language of this land, Japanese." Musashi responded "I don't know if you'd understand it."
"I see."
"So you not only lost your arm, but your powers as well eh?" Musashi inquired.

"About my powers... Most of them were lost when I was brought here. I was clashing with my greatest foe, and he very nearly killed me. However... our powers reacted, tearing a dimensional rift into this plane. The transport miraclously healed me, but it left me with this scar." Solranous replied, pausing to indicate the scar in question.
"My regenerative powers have continually failed to heal it, and I fear it will be a permanent scar... I have to protect it in battle now... because I'm far easier to wound if some strikes at my scar..."
Solranous sighed to himself, closing his eyes and remembering his home plane. All the comrades he was torn from...

"So..." Musashi began, cooking another animal and handing it to Solranous, wanting him to conserve his energy for further recovery "Did this enemy of yours get tossed into our dimension with you?"
Sol nodded his head.
"Do you think the same thing happened to him? That he lost a large chunk of his powers?"

"I assume so... he has failed to pursue me after arriving here, so I am fairly certain that he has lost power as well, and fears that in our current states I am more powerful. He won't attack until he believes he can win. In that way... he is a coward." the dragon replied, sighing and accepting the meal from Musashi.
"Regardless, him being here means he is away from all of my friends back home, meaning they are safe from him... Because of this, I can rest easy about them. However, this also means that I cannot go home before I have destroyed him..."

"Hmmm, I see. Very well. If I come across him, I shall kill him for you, unless that is an honor you wish to enjoy yourself, neh?"

"I would prefer to defeat him myself. Your offer is very generous, and if the circumstances between me and him were not as they were now, I would have accepted." Solranous replied.
"You see... my enemy... is a corrupted version of myself, who hails from yet another dimensional plane. In essence, he is my mirror. It is only proper that the two of us have one final duel to see who is the true Solranous. Defeating him is the ultimate test of my ability, for no other evil has managed to defeat me in such a manner that I cannot come back and return them the defeat they handed me."
Solranous then sighed to himself, eyes closed tight in concentration. An image of Shaarlunas appeared before them, standing lifeless, allowing Musashi to see the details of the hell dragon.
"This... is my long time foe... Shaarlunas..." was all the guardian dragon said as he held the image with no more obvious energy expenditure on his part.

Musashi studies the image. Indeed, it is very much like Solranous, but darker, evil-looking. "Hmmm, makes me wonder if there's not another version of myself in another dimension, with a mission to kill instead of protect."
"How did you come to take on this mission of yours?"
"Years ago, I was a famous Samurai in these lands. As the years wore on, my name became legendary among the Japanese people. A man sought to summon a creature to fight for and protect the people from the Shadow Creatures that were coming out of these portals. His entire family had been killed by them in fact. But he wanted to bond the soul of a warrior to the beast so it wouldn't just be a mindless brute. He chose me. He gave me life after death, and for this, I am indebted to him until I am killed and my soul returns to the land of the dead. I will carry out his final request until I am no longer able to do so."
"What was that request?"
"His final words were 'Go Musashi…go and protect those in need. Destroy the evils that are invading our world!' As a Samurai, it is my duty to follow the wishes of my lord, even after his death."
"It's good to have a purpose in life." Solranous grew silent for a moment, then sighed "I guess for now, mine is simply waiting until Shaarlunas feels the time is right to strike out at me, and hope his assumptions that he can kill me are wrong. After that...try and find a way back to my dimension."
There was another silence before a thought crossed Musashi's mind "Do you think...Shaarlunas would join with the Shadows? They've shown to be able to increase the power of all who join them quite a bit, and if he thought he could gain a winning edge against you by joining them...."

Sorlanous' eyes abruptly widened, almost panicked by the thought.
"Then he wouldn't hesitate... He may not like following orders, but he hates being weaker then a foe far more. If Shaarlunas joins with them, I fear I wouldn't have the power to take him on, not in my current state, and even if I had time to recover my powers, at the rate they coming back to me, Shaarlunas would have me dead before I got even a quarter of them back. He could be anywhere on this world, searching him out before he joins up with them would be hopeless..."
Solranous looked down, depressed about the turn of events. "Unless I gain back all my power before Shaarlunas makes his move... I'm going to need a lot of help..."

Musashi stands, and stabs his sword into the ground "Hai, then I will help you. If Shaarlunas has gone to outside help to acquire more power, then a fair fight between you two is impossible. Honorable victory cannot be achieved. When this happens...all bets are off. Besides, if he has joined with the Shadows, then that means he is my mortal enemy as well anyways. I've sworn to defeat and destroy all these Shadow Followers, if Shaarlunas now ranks among them..." Musashi plucks his sword from the ground and slashes the air with it "...Then it is my duty to take his head. I am with you, Solranous."

Solranous nodded in appreciation. "Thank you, Musashi, you don't know how much that eases the concern in my heart."
The dragon had little else to say, all he could do at the moment was gather his strength and heal from the battle against Blaradon.

Musashi stood back up, understanding Solranous' silence. "I will go and patrol the area again, see to it no more Shadow Creatures came through the portal. Feel free to eat what is left, I can always catch more."
Musashi bowed deeply to his companion, and headed off.

Solranous nodded as Musashi left. It would give him time to some telekinetic "patrolling" as well. Not for the Shadow Creatures, but for something else. For some reason, the more they damaged Blaradon, the more he felt something... oddly familiar about it. He knew he had never seen the mech before, let alone fight it. That design couldn't be mistaken for anything else he had seen.
Still... it bothered him, what he sensed. It hadn't influenced the fight at all, like it was dormant. Waiting. But for what? The dragon sighed, eyes closing as he seemed to meditate, in a similar fashion as Myston had to in order to activate his regeneration, before he had mastered it. As he did so, he broadened his telekinetic powers, looking for that something he felt.
If it was what he hoped it was... his fears concerning Shaarlunas would take a nose dive yet again.

(OOC: First, sorry for the double post, but I don't think just editing will be enough to clue somebody in that I've posted here.)
A sufficeint time had passed, he knew he had to investigate this strange energy personally. Getting back to his feet, a task notably more difficult when one is lacking an arm. Solranous glanced outside, before turning to a wall and throwing an energy orb at it. Instead of exploding, however, it unfolded into a short message, written in Japanese.
In English, the message read, "Sensed something unique in Tokyo's ruins, went to investigate."
Satisfied with that detail dealt with, Solranous left the makeshift home and took flight. He did not worry about radiation poisoning, he had dealt with such troubles before.
