As the Bartosians and Klenthurians duked it out on planet earth, Grand Commander Gat's personal transport rejoined the Beyonder mothership just outside the little blue planet's atmosphere. The Beyonder leader walked quickly into the mothership's main chamber - a massive structure with literally hundreds of floors within it, all of them wrapped around a huge, hollow area that could fit any number of massive weapons, experiments - or kaiju. And it just so happened that such a creature was their current guest of honor.
"Have you made the preparations I requested on my way here?" Gat asked one of his underlings.
"Yes sir. But, uh... your specifications were odd," said underling replied. "We were worried that your message may have-"
"You read them correct. We have a rather large guest," Gat said. "Bring out the banquet. And bring up the holoscreen. I don't want to seem small in this conversation."
"Yes sir," the underling responded. "Is this Grand Alliance business?"
"No," Gat replied. "In fact it seems the Alliance may be breaking up. This is something far more important. A kaiju - with sentience, no less!"
At that moment a massive door in the great chamber opened, allowing Cincindelion into the room. A large, holographic image of Gat's head appeared next to him.
"Welcome to our current base of operations," Gat said to the massive kaiju. "I have had our guests prepare a huge feast, even for one as great in size and power as yourself. All the cuisine we have amassed in our galaxy spanning empire has been prepared in massive quantities for your consumption. Please, make yourself at ease."
(This is a roleplay between me and TG, so no interference please.)

"Heh, you're too kind."
Cicindelion sits down and grabs what appears to be a giant "turkey leg" of sorts and tears off some flesh with his mandibles. After swallowing the meat, he realizes just how long it has been since he has had a decent meal. Though he didn't need to eat often, that battle had taken a lot out of him, and it was nice to be able to feast.
"It's... Been awhile since I've been able to sit down and eat. That battle took a lot out of me. But it only raises questions."
Gat's brow rose up, intrigued that the creature, a kaiju nonetheless, had questions for him.
"My first question... Who are you guys?"

"You may call us the Beyonders," Gat said. "We come from a universe parallel to this one. There we have an empire that spans galaxies, but that is neither here nor there."
"Uh huh," Cincindelion said. "And why are you here, and not there, then?"
Gat sighed. "Our empire is protected by a vast army of giant creatures, like yourself - though generally less intelligent. This planet-" he waved a tentacle towards the earth, "calls them 'kaiju,' both in our universe and yours. They are one of the strongest forces in our universe. But we lost a great deal of them in a recent clash with the inhabitants of the planet Mars. Having exhausted the kaiju supplies in our known empire, and lacking the force to take other planets by force without significant risk, we began to look for a creative way to rebuild our army. That is when we found your universe, bristling with kaiju no one wants. We figured we could take some of the spares and use them to our own end in our universe, without fear of retaliation from yours."
"Hmm," Cincindelion grunted, taking a sip from a massive glass of wine the Beyonders had brought. "And how is that working out for you?"
"No," Gat replied truthfully. "We found this planet torn by global war, with its native inhabitants fighting intergalactic foes from all sides. You have experienced that war yourself, just now - the battle you just took part in was just the latest of many. We figured the other aliens would win this war and, if we allied with them, we could hasten the end of the war and make off with the kaiju we so covet. The other races show little interest in them, so again, little likelihood of retaliation." Gat sighed. "But the other races have also proven to be less than stable, and now it seems like we may be lucky just to make it out of this alive."
"Quite a dilema for you," Cincindelion said. "But I hardly see why it's relevant to me."
"We are surrounded by potential enemies on all sides," Gat said. "And we have only one kaiju to our name in this universe. We could bring more from our own, but we'd rather not risk losing them. As I said, they're a precious resource for us there. What we need is a little more protection here in this universe. And so we decided to make contact with you."
"Ah, I think I see what you're asking," Cincindelion said. "You want to draft me into your little monster army. Take me to your universe, let me fight your battles for you."
"Not necessarily," Gat said. "You are sentient. You speak, you think. We can understand that for you, leaving this universe could be a very traumatic change. We understand that you may not wish to join us when we leave for our home. But we intend to stay here for a while longer yet, and if we do so we may need your help to keep ourselves safe. As we act as mercenaries for the Grand Alliance, so you would be our mercenary. We will feed you, house you, heal you after battle, and give you every comfort you ask that is within our power to give. All we ask in return is that you fight for us when we need you to. Then, when the time comes for us to return home, you may either stay here, or come with us and continue our arrangement." Gat smiled. "We are nothing if not reasonable."

Cicindelion brings his hand up to his chin and begins to rub it. His antenna twitch as he thinks, before finally speaking up.
"I'm not quite sure if that's a good plan..."
"Why is that?" Gat asked, intrigued that even with the negotiations offered, the alien was hesitant.
"Well... I'm not sure if that is what destiny lies in store for me..."
Gat was shocked. Never had he heard of a kaiju pondering about his future, let alone destiny.
"You're concerned with your destiny?" Gat replied, still surprised by the answer.
"Yes. For a long time now I have been searching for the reason I live. Why was I created? Everyone seems to be pushing me towards my destiny being to fight. Some say it is for me to become as strong as I can possibly become, while others merely want me to destroy. Is that the destiny of all 'kaiju'? To fight until we die?"

Gat took a moment to ponder the arthropod kaiju's words, stroking his chin tentacles while he did so. "My species is likewise concerned with the future. We do not believe in pre-destination - not exactly. We could go on an on about our philosophy, but honestly I would not want to bore you." Gat paused again, this time to make sure his next few words were very carefully chosen. "In our experience, it is in a kaiju's nature to fight. They are built for it, body and mind. That is not to say they are solely made for fighting, and that their lives must be completely violent and nothing more. We have seen kaiju comfort each other and nuture. But combat is hardwired in their bodies. The thirst for it is in their blood.
"But that may only be in our universe. Perhaps you lack the hunger for combat," Gat said. "In that case, we respect your wish. My kin and I are not snarling tyrants like some of our fellows in the Grand Alliance. We consider ourselves," Gat searched for words again, "Businessmen. If this arrangement doesn't suit you, no harm done. We will return you to earth, or anywhere nearby you should choose to go, and you may part from us on peaceful terms. But know that this world is one that is currently ravaged by violence, and shall be for the foreseeable future. If you stay here, whether you like to or not, you will be forced to fight. And as that's the case, you may appreciate our help just as much as we'd appreciate yours."

"Perhaps it is in the fighting that I may find my destiny. I may not become stronger, nor necessarily need to kill. Perhaps there is something more to fighting."
"If you join us, then you may find that meaning you are searching for." Gat responded.
Cicindelion scratched his chin again, and Gat pressed on, asking the question once again.
"Will you join us?"
Silence... Until Cicindelion finally answered.
"Yes."

Gat smiled warmly - it would have been comforting if his mouth wasn't filled with razor sharp fangs. "Excellent. Most excellent. The terms of this arrangement are up to you. If and when you quit is entirely in up to you to choose, and we will honor your choice. And as I said, any comfort or necessity you desire will be provided for by us, if it is within our power to do so. We have a variety of lodgings here on the ship you may stay in, and if you wish we shall craft one to your specifications within the next few days.
"We may have some requests beyond fighting for us in conflicts. Our other monster, Dhor Hra Zor, has been lacking a sparring partner, and as such his fighting skills are still rather raw and unrefined. This is, of course, optional," Gat said. "The only thing we will insist upon is your participation in battles that are necessary for our operations here. Beyond that you have free reign to do as you please."
Gat grabbed held up a glass of wine in one of his tentacles. "To a beautiful partnership! To destiny!"

"To destiny."
Cicindelion and Gat both sipped the wine after the clang of the glass, and the alien insect spoke up once again.
"In regards to a sparring partner, I'm more than willing to assist Dhor. I've grown fond of him thanks to that battle."
