But just as the flails were swinging at Anglarun, he was pulled out of their range mere minutes before they crushed him.
"Normally I don't save other peoples' hides, but I'm willing to admit that we all need to work together, somehow, to bring this thing down." Shaarlunas muttered, not really caring if the monster he just saved could understand him or not.
"Anyways, its my move now..." Shaarlunas continued, glaring at the mech before him. The hell dragon roared in fury, lunging at Jericho head on. The mech targetted Shaarlunas as the draggon approached, and deployed its flails again.
"Do you always start with the same attack option!?" Shaarlunas asked incredilously, ignoring the fact that he wouldn't get an answer. He weaved, jumped, and ducked to avoid getting splattered by the flails, regretfully losing the telekinetic strength to take a page from Dhor's book. Still, the dragon intended to focus his assault on the same area he had attacked before. Shaarlunas quickly vaulted over Jericho's head, turning to face the mech's back as he landed and launched two anti-matter beams, one after the other, each striking the mech's back squarely where his previous beams had hit, again, the damage caused was still negligible, but the armor was weakening.
"Now to perhaps help disable one of its weapons... how to get him to fire at me though." Shaarlunas wondered. He didn't have to wonder long, as soon as Jericho had him in its sights again, its left Firestorm Cannon extended.
"Oh boy..." was all the hell dragon had time to say, before turning and breaking into a run, barely staying ahead of the strafing gatling fire. About half the bullets managed to nail him in various places, the hell dragon couldn't keep himself out of range forever, but that damage would be healed soon enough.
The important thing was, though, that a cannon was now exposed. Shaarlunas lunged again, clamping his jaws over the cooling cannon, ignoring the heat burning the inside of his jaws, and tugged on it, scraping it with his fangs. The dragon bounced back and then launched one final Anti-matter beam at the cannon, scoring a direct hit, before diving away and hopefully out of range.
Knowing his luck though, there was no such thing as being out of Jericho's range...

Jericho ignored Sharrlunas, and instead turned to face another monster that had stuck him; Dhor Hra Zor, the space beast. The mech raised its massive flail and brought it down upon the alien... or so everyone thought. As the dust cloud cleared though, Dhor was off to the side, pushed out of the way by something. Jericho raised its flail up and the rest of the monsters gazed in horror as the crushed body of Cicindelion lay in the impact crater. Dhor seemed to whimper as the Mech turned towards him and raised his flail again, bring it down once more.
This time however, as the cloud clears, the alien wasn’t around... The mech’s AI seemed confused, only for it, as well as all the other fighters, to hear a familiar voice.
“You didn’t think I would lose that easily, did you?”
The monsters turned their heads to see Cincidelion, with Dhor in his grasp, touch down onto the ground. The shocked expressions from everyone around made the alien insect chuckle. He lets go of Dhor and suddenly appears on top of Jericho’s shoulder, like before. The others look to where the first impact from the flails occurred, to see the body suddenly disappear. They look back up at Cicindelion, who chuckles once more.
“I always love it when allies think I die! The expressions are priceless!”
Jericho does not find this amusing and merely continues on, taking a step forward. Cicindelion leaps off as the mech takes another earthshaking step, hovering behind the machine's back. He pulls his arms into a fighting stance, blades of energy suddenly erupting from his wrists. With a battle cry, the alien insect flies forward, ramming his energy blades into the cut he had previously made. Cicindelion is shocked to see his energy blade puncture slightly into the cut, only to shatter in a bright green burst of energy.
“Well... if two won’t do, let’s try a barrage!”
Cicindelion spreads his wings and begins to rapidly flap them, creating five copies of him. Each copy draws green energy blades from their wrists, as well as Cicindelion himself, and they one goes into, slashing at the armor before retreating back. But another quickly goes in and back out, and another, all following suit and doing this over and over again in rapid succession. Finally, after about a minute of constant attack, the attacks halt and Cicindelion causes his copies to disappear. The cut has become far larger as well as becoming quite deeper. Still, Cicindelion isn’t quite sure if this helps at all. The armor is ridiculously thick, and this gash may be nothing.
“Why... won't... you... DIE?!”
Cicindelion launches an energy disk with each word, going back and forth between hands. The four disks crash into the gash, the smoke slowly beginning to clear...

Above the battlefield, Zygrar and his men flew, watching and awaiting their orders to attack. The ace pilot hissed as he flew in low, looking into the darkness in which spat out Valcanus. "Interesting..." He hissed, zooming in the air to keep out of whatever else could be inside's reach.
In the actual battle, Rosie had stood back up. The walrus snarled and shook its body. This was a bad day to mess with the walrus!
He looked on, watching as the Grand Alliance took on Jericho, but someone here didn't belong. He could smell it. Somehow he could. It was Valcanus. It has the same scent as those other darkness freaks he had killed off before.
He doesn't like it.
Explosions began to flood the land as the walrus stood tall, bracing his body with his arms as a literal tidal wave of flames, caused by Jericho itself, crashed down on him! His fur charred and smoked, the walrus fell to a knee, groaning and cursing his lack of ranged firepower...
Jericho unleashed more of its firepower again, this time hitting Rosie so hard and fast he couldn't counter. The walrus' body was lifted off of the Earth and flung like a toy. He hit the ground with a huge belly flop! Rolling over and groaning, as he rubbed his belly, he finally stood up.
Valcanus wasn't far from him.
The lava demon was ready to attack the machine when Rosie suddenly lashed out, grabbing the beast by the back of the neck and mid-tail! With a grunt and show of strength, he hoisted Valcanus over his head.
Jericho paid little attention.
With a few steps and then a forceful throw, Valcanus was launched at Jericho's chest like a fiery rock! The demon shouted loudly before its body hit Jericho's! The attack did little, but Rosie snickered at the sight of Valcanus laying across the robot's chest and sliding down it as if one of those old cartoons...

“Impressive,” Syphriss chuckled from his vantage point from the Deity ships. “It downed eight daikaiju in a single bout. Nevertheless, it does seem to lack celerity…and while it does seem to have the durability to back it up, there is always a way through any defense. A pity none of our combatants are capable of any penetrating or microscopic attacks that ignore that armor…or are they? Not that it matters. Those psychics are always good for laughs. And I almost thought that one sacrificed himself for the greater good for a moment! Not that his deception matters, really…it seems that all of those granted a gift of mental communication also have temper control issues…listen to them raving!”
Above his sounds of amusement, Areit hissed through the Deity radio systems. “Has the analysis of the target been completed yet? And more importantly, what the hell is that walrus doing to that…shadow beast? It seems like one, doesn’t it?”
“Rosie seems to enjoy throwing partners like the cow’s milkmaid and her buckets, keep Renneth the hell away from him. Though granted he is killing two potential birds with one stone. As for the scan…Yep, and the Bartosians have gotten it too,” Zajen replied. “Seems those gargantuan cannons and the back are the weakness…that, and as stated, its lack of speed. Guess we ought to play the speedy David in the felling of this Goliath, then…hahaha. The former’s probably what Renneth can do better, send that down as his priority.”
“I can only infer your reference, but…” Syphriss leaned back in his seat, raising an eyebrow at Areit as she and her scientists turned to their panels, snapping out commands and transmitting signals down to Renneth below. “Oh, what irony. Never would I have thought our giant, dozens of meters-tall weaponry to be considered small, and yet here we are…”
~~~~~ As Rosie gets a kick out of his silly volcanic discus throw, it suddenly comes to the attention of various kaiju and onlookers that, despite the symbolism and machoness of the attack, it wasn’t exactly the brightest one possible. Valcanus, plastered to Jericho’s chest like a fiery insect on a windshield, is quite obviously left open to further punishment, and the close-range Rosie as well is still susceptible to another withering barrage of firepower similar to the last one that sent him to one knee. Indeed, Jericho is already raising its deadly flails to the occasion, preparing to smash the two creatures with both melee and ranged assaults alike.
The more tactical half of Renneth’s mind is mildly perturbed by his tusked ally’s rather unconventional and impractical attack pattern, but in the time seen observing and sensing the effects – or lack thereof – of the other Alliance members’ assaults on the machine, he has managed to formulate some sort of attack pattern, combined with his masters’ knowledge. Levitating somewhat further back away from the fray as always, he moves his body little at first as assaults smite the machine from every direction, the massive Stonehenge Cannon shells still embedded and held firmly in his body, plugging the gaping wounds already for him. Still, he seems to be saving them as retaliation for the mech or the like, as little more is done to anchor the bullets.
Swiftly, with an unnecessary flourish and split-second crossing of his arms, Renneth brings all six of his magnetic slabs levitating before him, lined up in a single row, clamped together side to side, pointed edges facing down and large, flat faces facing towards Jericho. His arms unfold now and raise to the sky, and the locked array of hematite crashes straight down, spearing themselves into the dirt before him. A veritable shower of turf begins to spray into the air, only for the clods of alien vegetation and earth to be sucked straight back down and plastered in a coating over the grayish sheen of metal. Renneth throws his head back, his arms trembling and his maw opening slightly as a ear-stinging screech of magnetism ringing high-pitched like a kaiju dog whistle through the ears of every monster in the vicinity.
There are mental rebukes and signs of annoyance from the others, but all are cut off as the magnetic titan throws every ounce of his manipulative and physical field strength into grasping at the massive, gravity-controlled behemoth before him. Jericho’s body is actually seen to slowly slip off its joints a bit, the upper part of the body being pulled back slightly before the lower half, before the entire machine is suddenly given a fearsome jerk to the rear, sending it toppling once more. Both the flails and the shots go awry, streams of tracers and spinning projectiles twirling upwards into the sky. Jericho’s massive bulk is far too much for Renneth to effectively carry and throw, but the sudden burst of exertion hefts the machine off its feet a good twenty meters or so and lobs it backwards perhaps another thirty or forty, before it crashes into the alien ground with a massive tremor.
The ground around it is already batter and beaten to a pulp, so there is little around it to be thrown up besides a turbulent chaos of dirt and flurries of earth, little to add to the excess damage and even ineffectively sealing off its back, at the price of giving an irritable Valcanus and Rosie a chance to get out of the way. However, Renneth’s attack and targeting capabilities are not those of most kaiju, and before the dirt has even finished falling onto the savior of the Earth, he pivots, flips around with one arm higher, then brings one tri-clawed arm down, piercing the earth with all three. Like a machine gun, dozens and dozens of slender spines fire from along the length out around the wrist into the earth, followed by all but one of the slabs.
As Jericho tries and somewhat fails to clamber back up, the machine is suddenly struck by a rapid sequence of jerks and convulsions, as one, two, three, then dozens more tiny concussive blow strike it on the weakened back, approximately in the area of previous wounds. Rising back out of the earth with powerful eruptions, Renneth’s larger slabs tear towards the new, strong magnetic center, five of them pounding heavy blows into the center of the machine followed by a storm of smaller spines. The latter do little besides make tiny, superficial pockmarks, but the combined hits with the larger slabs do serve to leave several tiny dents, and manage to lift the machine some five or six meters off the ground form the kinetic force, knocking it off balance again and leaving it downed.
The last slab shoots out of the sky, slapping itself blunt side down in the center of Jericho’s chest, laying its flat across the mech’s featureless center. With the rest of Renneth’s magnetic objects centered beneath the giant machine, and the object being as powerful a pull as possible, the alien baryonyx has an opportunity too good to resist. The rest of the kaiju lean forwards on their toes slightly as a powerful pull is once more exerted on the machine in their midst, but none are actually sucked in, as the main tug is directed not at them but straight up into the sky. As the Deity kaiju charges in, claws at the ready, the undocked Stonehenge Cannons are all yanked straight out of the sky, the direct and concentrate magnetism temporarily overpowering the gravitation force maintaining them in the air.
The weapons are temporarily clamped to and plastered across Jericho’s front side, hampering the mech’s movement and covering its face and upper body. Targeting the closest one stuck over what would pass for the mech’s stubby neck, Renneth snaps his claws at a ninety-degree angle to his wrist and delivers the strongest, magnetism-enhanced overhand triple slash he can deliver to the cannon, a whipcracking sound lashing through the air as his hand rockets down. Three cracked and chipped score marks are left across the cannon’s length, but the damage is flimsy at best. Undeterred, Renneth flings his arms back and wide in a crucifix pose, and his six slabs rise back out of the ground alongside a good portion of his spines, being restored to his body. Two of the hematite objects lash themselves to his lower limbs, and energy quickly begins to course across their length, golden orbs of force gathering at their tip as the beast prepares to fire.
His field is easily aware of the massive flail coming at him from behind as he takes point-blank aim with his shots at the cannon below him, but he is willing to take the hit to get his attack off, and counts on one of his seven partners to interfere, as the pattern has been going on thus far…
Valcanus glared over his shoulder, but refrained from retaliating- for now. Instead, he turned towards Jericho and unleashed a torrent of breath, striking the robot square in the chest. Valcanus directed the stream of heat downward, raking it across Jericho's mechanical torso before noticing a raised arm. He hastily cut the attack short, but the wrecking-ball fist crashed down before he could jump. Some of the other combatants cringed as Jericho raised its monstrous flail: revealing a large, lava-splattered crater in the ground.
But the destruction wasn't a sign of gore; the crater gurgled as more lava began to well up, oozing from a hole at the bottom. Valcanus, alive and well, burst out of the ground behind Jericho a moment later, roaring in a flare magma. A volley of meteors launched from his back, curving forward and homing in on the robot's right ankle. Jericho groaned as the fiery rocks exploded, but was helpless to ward off the attack- it simply couldn't turn fast enough to strike him again.
Taking advantage of his opportunity, Valcanus opened his jaws and loosed another round of heat beam, concentrating his fire on the smoldering heel. Sparks flew as the outer layer of the mech's armor began to blacken and flake, torched by the blast. As the beam ended, it became clear that he'd done visible damage- though exactly how much was unclear.
In the mean time, as Jericho lumbered around ponderously, Valcanus turned his attention elsewhere.
"You." He snarled, glaring at the monster who'd thrown him. "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with fire?"
Without warning, Rosie's mohawk burst into flames. The Klenthurian monster roared in shock, reeling back and pawing desperately as pyrokinesis stoked the fire. Valcanus threw back his head and cackled, turning away and leaving the walrus to extinguish itself while he concentrated on Jericho...
"Looks like these monsters aren't completely unified," the GDF Commander noticed. "Keep advancing and send the orders to utilize the satellite cannon. Let's blow these freaks down on the way."
"Affirmative. Sending orders now. Also, Jericho is also detecting energy signtures consistent with scanning technology emanating from the alien machine."
"Fine. Target that mech. Make it a high priority."
"Yes, sir!"
----
Jericho's eyes flashed once more the processing of new orders. Although one of the Firestorm Cannons was damaged , it was still very much functional, as it retracted from sight into the forearm. Jericho began to calculate new targeting vectors for the satellite cannon. But first, the machine needed to herd the monsters into a tighter cluster. The human war machine began to swing both flails in wide arcs, the metal spheres threatening to destroy anything in their path. The aliens could dodge easily enough though, as they swerved and dodged, unknowingly positioning themselves in perfect range for the maximum damage.
Jericho offloaded with all four Stonehenge Cannons again, striking Anglarun, Armada, Valcanus and Renneth in the chest with four different shells, shredding flesh and armor alike with ease. But as they struggled to rise Jericho unleashed its ultimate weapon. Miles above the Earth, the potent orbital laser weapon that had been launched weeks ago began to charge itself, drawing power from internal sources and solar energy, before unleashing a brilliant blue beam of enery straight down to Earth. The heavens swirled in a mighty vortex as the beam pierced the sky, striking the clumped formation of monsters.
The beam not only scorched the monsters unfortunate enough to be caught in the direct path of the weapon, but the ensuing explosion egulfed them all. Even the force of the blast was enough to rock Jericho in place. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, all the other monsters were lying in the dirt, battered and beaten. Jericho selected his new priority target from those fallen aliens and advanced, placing one foot on Armada's chest and aiming the previosly damaged Firestorm Cannon at Armada's head. As the barrels began to spin, the Stonehenge Cannons docked to reload...
"NO!" Jok-Toon screamed as he slammed his hand hard into the controls for the Gravity Cannon, bringing it to bear on the Firestorm Cannons that threatened to destroy Armada. The tips of both cannons touched each other, and both went off at the same time. While Jok-Toon didn't have time to charge up the Gravity Storm, the damage from the triple barrels was enough to get his point across.
Problem was, Jericho got his point across as well...only louder. The Firestorm Cannons unleashed hell on the Gravity Cannons, shredding up Armada's most potent weapon.
While immediate destruction at Jericho's hands had been averted, there was still the problem of Jericho's massive foot on Armada's chest. With all that weight on the already damaged armor, Jok-Toon himself was in eminent danger of being crushed and killed.
But a sudden wave of explosions across Jericho's leg caused it to take some pressure off, just for a moment. Jok-Toon aimed Armada's visor laser directly at Jericho's own visor, the explosion obscuring his vision.
With the pressure off, Jok-Toon was able to slip Armada out from under Jericho. He righted the Bartosian mech, then checked the sensors. They were badly damaged, but he could make out a few Bartosian signatures.
"Ground Pounders." he said to himself. The must have all dived in as one, unloaded their entire salvo on Jericho's leg, then pulled up.
"Armada, what's your status?"
"Severe damage to armor, Gravity Cannons destroyed, scanning systems off-line, robotic worker factory off-line, front-right leg is severely damaged and cannot support weight."
"Get the workers started on fixing their factory, then work on patching up the leg."
Jok-Toon once again maneuvered himself around Jericho, Armada moving slower this time due to the damaged leg, and aimed his chaingun at the spot he'd previously attacked. Depressing the trigger, Armada's chaingun roared to life, pelting Jericho's back with it's salvo.
He kept up the attack until the gun finally started to overheat, and backed off. Jok-Toon smiled as he saw that his attack had actually caused some damage, the small puncture that his leg had made earlier had been greatly expanded.
Again, Jericho turned to Armada, the Bartosian mech now a higher priority...
Dhor Hra Zor once again leapt to Armada's aid, firing a dazzling EMP blast upon the massive mech. The machine was barely phased by the blast, its armor defending its circuitry incredibly well, but it was enough of a distraction to let Armada escape the machine's immediate retaliation. Jericho was not going to let Armada off the hook so easily, however, and continued to slowly trudge toward the alien machine. Yet Dhor Hra Zor was just as determined to draw its fire, jumping in between the two machines and kangaroo kicking Jericho in the chest. The force of the blow sent the earthling war machine stumbling backwards, actually managing the shake the walking monument to humanity's offensive weaponry.
Jericho continued to lumber toward them, undaunted, its gravity flails deployed to beat both Dhor Hra Zor and Armada into the ground. Dhor quickly grabbed Armada and chucked the mech hundreds of meters away, blissfully unaware of the fact that the impact from the fall might also do some damage to the alien mech. He was soon made painfully aware of Jericho's flails, however, as they bashed him into the dirt. The mech raised the flails back into the air for a second strike, only to watch the battered Beyonder scramble out of their range.
While running like a coward, Dhor couldn't help but notice the whole Armada had been contributing to earlier. Once he was sufficiently out of the machine's range, Dhor Turned back to face hi opponent and loosed streams of acid from his mouth and hands at the hole while simultaneously firing his laser. All of them hit their mark, making the hole large still and destroying much of what was inside it. The Beyonder monster howled with lunatic glee at his work before retreating to a safer distance to lick his wounds.
While many of the other defending kaiju were focused on other parts of Jericho, Anglarun was still keeping full attention on the Firestorm Cannons, since they were what was mainly being used against the alien fish. Anglarun slowly returned to his feet, battered by the last barrage from the Earth mech, ready to fight. Jericho had just finished against Dhor for the moment when it unleashed the Firestorm Cannons on Anglarujn, who in turn, ran, trying his best to avoid them. After a good fifteen seconds of sttempting to avoid the bullets, the fish suddenly jumped, creating a lightning spike which went straight through the left Firestorm cannon before arcing into the right one. Fire shot out from both arms, showing signs of damage. Anglarun snarled out of triumph.
The fish was almost caught off guard when a gravity flail landed next to him. He looked up to see the other flail headed straight down for him. Anglarun quickly hopped up onto the already grounded flail before running up its arm. The alien quickly jumped from the arm, grabbing onto Jericho's middle antenna. The fish hung there, firing several lighting bolts into the still cooling left cannon. But before he could proceed to the right cannon, the antenna started to bend, causing the fish to lose his grip and fall to the ground with a thud. The antenna now looked kind of like a broken hood ornament, hanging there limp. Anglarun returned to his feet, and swiftly cornered Jericho, trying to confuse the mech. As it started to turn around, Anglarun slide under its legs, returning to the front side. The fish then fired a plasma beam into the ankle where Valcanus had attacked earlier.
Not much damage was done, but Anglarun continued with several lighting spikes to the ankle before backing off to catch a breath...
"I'm glad to see my idea of giving him back pain is gaining popularity!"
Cicindelion lifted off and buzzed behind the mech. He immediately turned and flew up into the sky, seemingly angling his flight away from the mech. The alien suddenly turned around and activated his energy blades.
"Let's give him some sharp back pains!"
The alien then flew down, angled, at top speed. With energy blades out first, Cicindelion crashed into Jericho with such force that even the mighty titan stumbled a step forward. The alien jumped out from the now gaping hole and launched two energy disks directly at the hole, slicing deeper into the armor.
"THAT'S IT!"
Cicindelion charged forward, shoulder first, at full speeds and rammed directly into the very bottom of the hole. He flew out, grasping his shoulder from the recoil it received from ramming straight into such powerful armor. But as the smoke cleared, it seemed that insides of the mech might have been emerging into sight... Or so Cicindelion hoped...
As the war weapon unleashed hell on the group of fiends, it suddenly stumbled forward. Sirens inside the haul began to ring as another great force exploded on its back. Rosie stood some hundred meters back, ripping out huge chunks of Earth and throwing it at Jericho.
By the time the machine turned around, another boulder of solid Earth exploded on its face. Through the dust and falling dirt, Jericho's stone hedge cannons fired, blasting Rosie in the gut and sending the giant walrus skidding for several hundred meters...
((OOC: lol 11th hour post)
As the mohawked walrus stumbled back through the tangled Klenthurian overgrowth, his flailing claws tearing up the earth and vegetation alike, the gravity-borne, massive cannons of Jericho whirled and swiveled, the dome-headed mech taking deadly precision aim at Rosie with another two of its massive weapons. Before the alien beast could even begin to attempt a recovery from the massive kinetic impact applied to his abdomen, one of the armed cannons shook and jerked slightly, preparing a second vicious shot before the helpless eyes of the tusked creature.
However, the bent laws of physics would have something to say about that attack, for as the massive slug exited the Stonehenge Cannon, it completely failed to fly straight and true. Rather, it skewed off at a blatantly manipulated angle almost instantly after clearing the end of the barrel, flying directly to the right and smashing headlong into its neighboring gun floating nearby with all of its powerful momentum and mass. An earsplitting clanging sound of metal pinging of metal echoed over the Lizard’s Nest as the shell, energy spent, bounces back down to the ground, its fall shaking streams of dust and chunks of vine into the air. The second Cannon that absorbed the impact is knocked several hundred meters to the side away from Jericho before its flails succeed in holding it fast, a notable dent in its armor.
Above in the sky, the onlooking AOMD descended back from beneath the clouds, unmarred by its narrow escape with the GDF’s massive orbital blast. “Everyone in one piece down there?” Zajen called over general channels. “We’d hate to have to patch you all back together after that big one. Especially since there’d be an awful lot of questions to ask after this. I’d personally like to know why none of the seven or eight of our forces noticed that satellite there in the first place.”
With a trembling of the earth and a massive tearing noise, Renneth and his slabs levitated upwards from the floor once more, bringing vast chunks of the scorched ground with him as well. Notably the worse for wear aesthetically, some of the metal protrusions of his body having been melted into molten slag flowing over his frame, the magnetic titan floated upwards to head level, several Stonehenge shells still embedded in his form and used as makeshift plugs where they entered. “Then again,” Zajen continued, “If these lazy assaults on this massive threat are any indication of our work habits in general, it’s no wonder we missed that satellite. Clods of dirt? Really? I could have summed that up in a paragraph or two in words.”
“Ouch,” Syphriss added to no one in particular over the Alliance channels, with not a hint of remorse in his voice. “My poor fourth wall. All the Alliance forces and all of its men, couldn’t put it together again.” There was a general lack of response or comprehension among the rest of the Deity forces.
Blithely oblivious of this exchange, Renneth now sent all half-dozen of his hematite slabs to encircle and encroach upon the one Cannon the deflected shot had separated from the others. Jericho’s flails made an automated effort to return the weapon to its master, but the magnetic field of Renneth was matching it now, and at the very least holding the return pull at bay. Crackling with pure, whitish energy collected from the aftermath and fallout of the massive Satellite explosion, the six flattened diamonds pointed their sharpened tips at the Cannon trapped at their center, rotating around it in a deadly sphere.
Without further ado, Renneth unleashed his charges, six thick energy beams blasting onto the thick metal protecting the Stonehenge Cannon. A crackling explosion and wave of light expands outwards some ten to twenty meters around the weapon, engulfing it in a concentrated, searing blast, the many rays swiveling and spinning to strafe the Cannon from all angles. This continued for several moments before the beams ended, the final concurrent cessation triggering one large detonation that sprayed sparks outwards to the trailing slabs themselves.
The Cannon, still intact, but with armor blackened, burnt and weakened on the outside, was visible for only a brief second more before the six slabs began their melee assault upon it, swishing in with magnetically-attracted velocity from every direction, beginning to stab and thrust, jab and prod. From each angle, ranging from one to two at a time, jabbing in rapid, effortlessly manipulated order, the slabs attacked, two slashing in here to clang off the weakened metal, leaving small pockmarks, one driving in there to jab a deeper hole in a particularly blackened spot, a fourth jamming itself into the base of the Cannon as one of the first withdrew.
Like a gun clip fired and emptied at a metal wall, these pings and dings continued for some time, jabbing tiny pinpricks into the openings of the Cannon and increasing transforming its sleek shape into a dinged, dented, deformed cylinder. This assault as well proved unable to penetrate the GDF’s thick armor, and Renneth swiftly withdrew after seven or eight seconds of this, drawing his slabs back to his side as his eye spike began to crackle with energized lightning, swirls of force charging along its length, perhaps planning another, stronger beam, perhaps inadvertently strategizing for what was to follow.
Recovered from its torment, the Stonehenge Cannon now spun around and shook itself with another powerful recoil as it fired a second shot straight at its assailant. This time, however, Renneth was prepared for the blow, and as the slug whistled through the air, the sonic booms of its passing triggering vast explosions on the Klenthurian garden below, it seemed to collide with an invisible, rubbery wall. In a matter of seconds, its momentum slowed, and then entirely reversed, slingshotting back straight back at the source as it was repulsed from the target. As it returned, Renneth simultaneously discharged his energy beam at, and contained it around, the returning Jericho slug, wrapping it in a powerful coating of energy.
The shell fired directly back into its own Cannon and unleashed the detonation of energy from within, blasting the gravity-controlled weapon into a wild, uncontrolled spin as a billowing cloud of sparks and smoke tore from its opening. Several of the larger dents ruptured, small hairline fractures at their base spewing light and sparks as the energy tore outwards from the tiny space. The weapon itself, half-pulled back to Jericho and containing massive and violent forces, spiraled downwards and inwards crazily before crashing into the ground, dropping some displaced machinery and the remnants of the shell from its maw.
Renneth watched in interest, charging more power and waiting for someone else to finish the Cannon off…
Valcanus eyed the cannon warily, but ignored it. He had bigger fish to fry; his "allies" could deal with the cannon if they thought it was so important. In the meantime he stepped forward, bellowing loudly and confronting Jericho directly.
The giant robot turned slowly, callously analyzing its next attacker. Setting his hand ablaze, Valcanus reared back and swung, throwing a streaking ball of fire into the machine's face. It exploded with a brilliant flash, doing little but rile the automaton as it marched toward him. It brought an arm to bear in retaliation, pointing one of its colossal fists at him- perhaps contemplating its Firestorm Cannons. Valcanus only chuckled, standing his ground.
"Try me." He hissed threateningly.
Instead the giant sphere swung forward, crashing into Val with a tremendous punch and sending him flying across the battlefield. Soaring through the air, Valcanus crashed into the ground hundreds of feet away and skidded on his back before finally coming to a rest some distance away. But as the trail of dust cleared, Valcanus rose to his feet. Though a network of cracks covered his chest, which was noticeably flatter than before, he was clearly none the worse. Having no internal organs had its advantages, it seemed.
"Well," He boomed defiantly. "if that's all you've got...
Valcanus reared back his head and roared, launching a wave of meteors from his back while simultaneously summoning a series of geysers. The spires of lava burst out of the ground in rapid succession, making a b-line for the titanic robot as the two sets of homing "missiles" surged toward him from the sides. All three forces struck at once, briefly obscuring the robot in a cloud of explosions and sending it reeling back. Narrowing his eyes, Valcanus took in a deep breath, embers gathering around his mouth. An instant later his beam lashed out, shooting across the field and connecting with Jericho's chest. Caught off guard, the charred mecha stumbled back even further before straightening itself out. Satisfied for the moment, Val growled contently and stood fast.
"Commander, we've got a problem here!"
"What is it?"
"Number 4 Stonehenge Cannon has sustaine dsignificant damage. Further attempts at firing it might result in the cannon's destruction."
"Dammit! It must be that robot. He's coordinating the whole thing! I don't care what happens to the number 4 cannon! Blast that scrap heap back to the stone age!"
"Yes sir!"
----
Jericho's eyes flashed as it recieved the updated orders. Although the machine was supposed to abandon the number 4 cannon, there seemed to be little point in letting it go to waste. Although Renneth was able to hold it tight, despite Jericho's Gravity Leashes, the machine could still activate it via remote, which it did, discharging the last of its payload directly into Renneth's chest, sending shards of metal flying and leaving another smoking crater in the metal monster's chest. Renneth collapsed in a heap several hudred feet away as the Stonehenge Cannon finally gave out, falling to the ground as a useless heap.
With that, Jericho turned its attentions to Armada once more, firing a full salvo with both Firestorm Cannons. In its weakened state, the Bartosian war machine was unable to dodge effectively, as the bullets tore up the machine's armored frame, dropping it to its knees. Jericho began to advance on Armada again, when Rosie, the annoying pest of a monster, decided to throw more clods of dirt at the machine from behind. Rather than let this nuisance continue on and disrupt future attacks, Jericho took aim and fired with two of the remaining Stonehenge Cannons Cannons, both shells exploding across Rosie's chest, spraying blood and gore every which way as well as tossing the walrus back a good distance.
With that threat down, Jericho turned its attentions back to Armada, preparing to crush the machine one section at a time...
