(OOC: I'm assuming Shadras don't die even if all of their heads are cut off, seeing as regening heads is its gimmick.)
Shaarlunas snorted as he glanced around the area.
"Pitiful. Where the hell have I wound up now?" the hellish monster growled, the waves of the nearby coastline seeming to tremble at his very presence.
His musings were cut short by a loud triple bellow from behind. Shaarlunas turned, just in time to see a Shadra drag itself out of a darkness portal.
"Well WELL! You should provide some entertainment!" Shaarlunas howled, challenging the creature. The shadow beast responded in kid with its haunting triple bellow again, spewing flames at once with Shaarlunas hopped out of the way of.
"Too slow!" the Hell Dragon hissed, blasting the creatures flank with his Desolation. Shaarlunas quirked a non-existent eyebrow when he noticed that his attack did little damage.
"Ah, a living tank I see. Lets find out who's better, the lightning bruiser or the mighty glacier!" Shaarlunas roared, bracing himself for a tough fight, the shadow beast's twelve eyes shimmered as a stream of darkness surged out at Shaarlunas. The hell dragon quickly evaded, only to get blasted in the chest by two more streams.
"GRAH! DAMN YOU!" Shaarlunas hissed, blasting each head with an anti-matter stream, left eye for right head, maw for center head, and right eye for left head. The Shadra reeled back in pain and Shaarlunas quickly twirled, slicing off each of the beasts three heads.
"Hmm, I couldn't waste anymore time on you." Shaarlunas hissed, back turned to the monster. The lack of a ground shaking 'thud,' however, alerted him that something was wrong. He made to turn around again, but far too late as six streams of darkness slammed into his back.
The hell dragon howled in agony as he collapsed from the combined assault of the beast, his back blown open from the force of the attacks, and his wings shredded, practically paralyzed from the pain. Taking advantage of its enemy's prone position, the Shadra lumbered forward to the downed Shaarlunas and proceeded to slam each head down against the soft, yielding flesh underneath Shaarlunas' scales, the hell dragon howling with each hit.
Deciding to take a chance, and hope that the body wouldn't register the amount of heads severed as six instead of three, the hell dragon flailed his blade tails blindly, cutting the heads off again, just below the junctures of the regenerated heads. Again, the Shadra remained up right, still well alive, but what counted was that it wasn't attacking, and Shaarlunas surged out from underneath the beast while he had a short reprieve. Shaarlunas managed to turn around to face the monster as its head regenerated, however, instead of six again like Shaarlunas hoped, the beast now sported twelve heads, and Shaarlunas soon realized why. He had missed the mark by so short a distance, but it was enough to double his problems yet again.
He growled, staring defiantly into forty-eight eerily glowing eyes, before rushing the Shadra. The shadow beast readied streams of both fire and darkness, but Shaarlunas took advantage of his greater agility, jumped, and literally vaulted over the beast, using two of its numerous heads as perches for his hands. The hell dragon quickly realized that the only way he'd walk away victorious, let alone alive, was to stay behind this monstrosity and hope its extra heads had a time limit. He then realized another potential strategy. This beast could likely coordinate only so many heads at a time, and it paused every time all of its heads were gone.
A plan was quickly building in the demon dragon's mind, just as the Shadra turned around enough to aim its heads at Shaarlunas again. Mentally, the demon dragon hated using such a cowardly strategy, but he hated dying even more. Not to mention this enemy was better equipped to slay him then vice versa.
Just as the Shadra fired streams of flame, Shaarlunas put his plan into action, evading the monster's flames, and landing on its back. The Shadra bellowed and tried to buck him off, but his claws and talons just had too tight a grip on the beast's hide. Shaarlunas quickly swung his tails, swiftly and methodically decapitating the beast with sharp precision. Again the monster paused, and Shaarlunas let rip with several anti-matter streams back to back, until the monster resumed motion after regenerating some of its heads. The hell dragon had miscalculated how long it would take for the Shadra to return to motion, and had loosened his grip, allowing the shadow beast to throw him off.
Shaarlunas shook stars from his head, and quickly started to roll away as the monsters now-twenty-four heads tried to blast him. The demon dragon managed to pull himself back to his feet, but this gave the Shadra the opening it needed, and it nailed Shaarlunas with several streams of fire and darkness, spiking pain through out his torso.
"Damn, my ability to regenerate just can't keep up..." Shaarlunas hissed to himself as he assessed just had badly he was damaged. His back had yet to fully heal, but at this point it was in far better condition then his chest, of which small portions of bone could almost be seen. Blood cascaded from his body in rivers, likely to attract any wild carnivore that tracked prey by scent. For some reason the image of a giant mutant shark made itself known in his brain... Shaarlunas shook the image from his mind and snarled, he had to finish this now.
The Shadra gathered energy again for another salvo, and Shaarlunas made his move, rushing the shadow beast again. The Shadra fired, and Shaarlunas dove under the streams, rolling forward into a crouched position before whirling around and decapitating the beast once more, this time at its three original necks.
"Now or never!" Shaarlunas screeched, even though no one would hear him, and the hell dragon jumped on the immobilized Shadra's back again, tearing loose with more anti-matter beams. Blood and gore flew from the Shadra's back as its spine was finally exposed under the onslaught, just as six heads sprouted from the original three necks. The necks twisted, revealing they could turn 180 degrees to reach Shaarlunas.
"Oh no you don't!" the hell dragon howled, gripping the Shadra's exposed spine his jaws and clamping down with everything he had. It gave way before the Shadra could retaliate, snapping under the pressure. The Shadra shrieked one last time, before collapsing, finally dead. Shaarlunas bellowed in victory as he stumbled off. He looked behind him to see the beast dissolving into shadows, before collapsing himself, his blood staining the sands and waters red.
"Take that... ya... damn... bastard..." Shaarlunas hissed weakly as he slipped from consciousness.

I hope that was of appropriate length and damage.

Thread is closed, kinda hard to talk with an unconscious, practically dead dragon... no, I haven't killed him off.
