King Basil had followed Tyrantis out of the Lawless Zone, but the two had parted ways after that. When the earth called Tyrantis to Africa, it likewise sent King Basil to North America. The serpent had been swimming up the Hudson river for days and had just now reached New York City. The tumult caused by Triceradon caught the snake's attention, inspiring Basil to finally return to dry land. The massive cobra slithered into the city and saw the massive dinosaur mutant wreaking havoc upon the human population.
In the past this wouldn't have bothered King Basil. However, while the snake's old power had been slowly returning, in came a new and utterly alien feeling: a sense of purpose. For reasons that were beyond the venomous reptile, King Basil felt a need to protect the world - not in a territorial way, but in a parental manner. The feeling had grown stronger during his time spent with Tyrantis, and at the sight of this carnage it grew stronger still. Basil felt he had to protect the world, and the world at that moment told him that also meant protecting the humans. Destructive though they may be, the humans had an integral role to play in the battle against the coming darkness.
So, with a thunderous hiss of challenge, Basil announced his presence to Triceradon. So long as the snake lived, the humans would not be harmed.

Despite being knocked back by the energy beam, King Basil was still fast enough to avoid the spikes launched at him. With a second hiss the serpent spat venom into Triceradon's eyes. The massive dinosaur bellowed in pain as its eyes burned with pain. Blinded by the poison, Triceradon stumbled around in confusion as he tried in vain to see his surroundings.
King Basil used this to his advantage, sneaking around the buildings with much more ease thanks to his serpentine shape. The massive cobra sneaked up behind Triceradon and bit his foe, injecting a dangerous neurotoxin and hemotoxin cocktail into the massive dinosaur. Triceradon howled again as the poison coursed through his veins, slowing his reflexes and creating massive pain. In his agony Triceradon stepped on King Basil, making the serpent cry out as well. The snake slithered out from underneath his foe and whipped him repeatedly with his tail, his spiked sides cutting into Triceradon's flesh. Despite being blinded, poisoned, and bleeding, Triceradon managed to kick King Basil away, sending the serpent reeling into a sky scraper. Basil recovered quickly, raising his head and spitting more acidic venom at Triceradon...

(OOC - Uh, you can't use your finisher unless I agree to let you kill my monster. And I don't.)
Basil quickly dodged the massive blast, hiding behind a skyscraper. This terrain suited him much better than the behemoth he was fighting - plenty of places for him to hide, and streets just wide enough to let him slither around with ease. While Triceradon stumbled around to catch him, slowed by both the narrow streets and the poison coursing through his veins, King Basil quickly found a hiding spot to tend to his wounds and prepare an ambush.
The spikes stuck in his coils were a pain, but thanks to his thick hide they hadn't gotten too far. The snake pulled each out with his mouth, letting them drop on the pavement below. He watched as the holes caused by the spikes sealed up, healed by his regeneration. That done, he curled up into a ball, prepared to strike at any moment.
His body felt the vibrations of Triceradon's footsteps as the dinosaur approached. The serpent waited patiently for it to get closer, his body safely hidden from view by the buildings. The second Triceradon got into striking range Basil leapt out, biting the dinosaur and injecting more venom. Triceradon bellowed in pain and thrashed around, but Basil's fangs held onto the monster like a vice as he pumped more and more poison. Basil whipped his body around as the dinosaur thrashed, slashing Triceradon's hide horribly with each lash of his serpentine form. The hemotoxin he had injected made the wounds bleed longer than normal, even despite the dinosaur's healing factor.
Triceradon roared at the pain and bucked, finally managing to dislodge the serpent. In a fury the three horned dinosaur turned around and blasted King Basil with an energy beam, sending the serpent rolling down the street. The second the serpent rose again Triceradon let loose another beam, knocking Basil down another two blocks.
This time Basil didn't rear up, choosing instead to slither to safety. Triceradon snorted and began to search for his stealthy foe amongst the skyscrapers. Suddenly Basil leapt out in front of Triceradon, surprising the dinosaur with a quick spray of his acidic venom. The venom landed on Triceradon's frill, melting away the skin and muscle covering the bony shield. Triceradon howled in pain as Basil spat again, this time aiming for his foe's eyes...

(The winner will be decided by the moderators whenever they think the match is over).
King Basil did not have enough time to dodge the spikes, so he did the next best thing. With a swipe of his tail he hit the spikes in midair, sending most of them back at Triceradon at the price of letting a few hit his tail. While this didn't do any damage to the dinosaur, it did make him flinch, giving Basil the chance to slither away. Triceradon roared in anger at losing his foe again and pursued his foe again, trampling small buildings as he did so.
As Triceradon lumbered through the streets below, King Basil watched from his perch on one of the sky scrapers, having craftily climbed upward instead of waiting below. The serpent's tongue flickered in and out of his mouth as he deliberated his next move. Finally deciding to screw planning things out, Basil leapt down from his perch and landed on top of Triceradon, biting the dinosaur to inject yet more venom. Triceradon roared as more neurotoxin and hemotoxin spilled into his veins, slowing his reactions further and weakening his healing factor. The cobra quickly leapt off his prey and slithered up yet another sky scraper - the Empire State Building. Triceradon would have seen this had the narrow confines of the city streets not kept him from turning around. Instead he could only groan in agony as the toxins took hold in his body, trying desperately to find his elusive foe. In a fit of rage Triceradon began to flatten all the buildings around him until he could properly turn around.
The second the dinosaur turned towards the Empire State Building Basil attacked, tossing the spikes that had been lodged in his tail back at their owner. Triceradon backed away, letting the spikes land harmlessly on the ground. The dinosaur retaliated with a blast of his energy beam. The blast actually managed to knock Basil off the building, but the serpent quickly managed to wrap his body around it before he could get too close to the ground. Basil snarled and spat down at Triceradon, hitting the dinosaur's eyes with his acid. While his foe howled from his sudden blindness Basil quickly climbed to the top of the building, reaching its mighty antenna.
Seconds before Triceradon was about to fire blindly in front of himself, the mighty dinosaur felt something long and pointy spear him in the back. Basil had actually thrown the Empire State Building's antenna at him, or its tip at leat, impaling the dinosaur with the metal pole. As Triceradon tried madly to get the metal spear out, King Basil prepared spat more acidic venom at his blinded foe...

(ooc - um, you might want to redo that post. First of all, bone breaking is an illegal move - the rules for the RPG clearly state that. Secondly, Basil is on top of the Empire State Building, and you didn't explain how Triceradon made him get down from it.)

While badly beaten and bruised, King Basil was still in fighting shape - thanks to his thick hide and regeneration, this fight was far from over. As Triceradon tried to trample him again, Basil whipped Triceradon in the face, creating a deep laceration. The dinosaur howled in agony as Basil reared up and spat venom in his face, blinding him more as well as making the huge cut on its cheek even worse. Basil spat more venom at Triceradon's side, melting more flesh. The serpent spat again and slithered away, not waiting to see if the venom hit its mark...

(OOC - generally fights take two or three weeks, but that's because they generally only get one post a day, if that. Ours has about eight posts so far, so who can say. If you really want it to end, you can post a retreat, but it means you lose the fight.)
King Basil saw his foe was losing his interest in the fight. This was a good sign - there was a high possibility the dinosaur would simply retreat, saving the humans as well as keeping Basil from having to kill the monster. Relentless, Basil decided to fight even harder to make increase the possibility of this event. The massive serpent turned around to face Triceradon and spit poison at the creature's frill, making it howl in agony. He then ducked into the nearby buildings, slithering nimbly through the claustrophobic city until he was behind Triceradon. With a furious hiss he leapt out and bit the dinosaur's tail, pumping more of his poison into the creature. Triceradon roared and flailed his tail until Basil let go.
The three horned monster turned around sluggishly, his blood system now heavilly filled with toxins. With a roar the dizzy monster released a volley of energy beams, most of which hit the nearby buildings instead of their target. A few did manage to knock Basil backwards, sending the serpent rolling down the city streets again. Basil quickly regained his composure and slithered towards Triceradon, dodging energy beams as he got into striking range. The cobra spit again, blinding Triceradon. Then with a monstrous bellow the serpent spat more venom, ready to end this fight one way or another...
