-Outside of Imar HQ
A rift in dimensions opens... and through it steps a small figure. It is Lance Erobern; corrupted by the influence of the Death God... yet nobody is around to see him. He looks up in the air and waves his arm through it. Suddenly, a massive portal appears, and through it steps a massive cybernetic monstrosity. The behemoth clangs his fist and cannon hand together before letting out a terrifying roar.
"Overkill... born from Zorn and Brakatak... I command you, in the name of the God of Death... DESTROY!"
Overkill replied with a massive stomp of his hoof onto the ground and stormed off, heading directly towards Imar Headquarters as Lance leaves through the portal whence he came.

Suchodon is sleeping in the pool, his head resting on the sandy beach area. Suddenly, Big Al gets spooked and rockets off the beach and into the water. At the same time, Suchodon’s eyes snap open as the kaiju senses something as well. A few seconds later, alarms begin to blare throughout Imar. Suchodon immediately gets up and looks around, quickly spotting the approaching monster. He lets out a deep hiss and begins moving to intercept the creature.
-Meanwhile, in the main control room-
“Dammit, why didn’t we pick it up sooner?” says Neil, obviously more than a little agitated by the situation.
“It just appeared out of thin air in the same place we picked up that energy surge, sir.” replies one technician.
“We’ve got visual, putting it up on the main screen now.” says another.
A moment later, the huge monitor at the front of the room switches to a feed from an external camera showing the monster.
“Jesus Christ, that thing is huge!” the first technician exclaims.
Suchodon enters the frame, stopping several hundred meters in front of Overkill, placing himself between the monster and the outskirts of the base.
Neil growls. “Ready the base defenses.”
Outside, Suchodon roars at the gigantic creature before him, ready to defend his home at any cost.

Nearly knocking the hangar doors off their hinges, Theraga raced into action, bounding towards the intruder. Slamming down with his front feet and skidding to a halt next to Suchodon, he opened his jaws wide and bellowed ferociously. He tensed up as the monster approached, then looked to his ally- "We've got this!" flashing in his eyes.
Inside Imar HQ, Caitlyn was running down the corridor, ignoring the scrambling scientists and flashing sirens. Quickly making her way through the building, she found who she was looking for. "Jason!" She shouted, grabbing his shoulder. Practically jumping out of his skin, he quickly turned around to see her. "Wha- oh! Caitlyn! What is it?!" He said quickly, clearly both flustered and in a hurry.
"What kind of weapons do you have here?" She asked urgently.
Jason's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Look, this is hardly the time for a tour-"
"No!" She interrupted hastily. "I don't want a tour! I want to FIGHT!"
"What?!" He exclaimed.
"I'm tired of playing damsel in distress, that's what! Theraga and Suchodon are out there putting their lives on the line, and I'm just sitting here, twiddling my thumbs!" She cried. "Tell me where your base's weapons are and I can help!"
"Are you kidding me?!" He said, giving Caitlyn a perplexed look. "Do you even have any idea how-"
"To operate heavy weaponry? Yeah, actually, as a matter of fact I do!" She said, standing her ground. "I might need some of your technicians since it's not Allinian technology, but that's it, Jason! I can seriously handle this!"
"Please!" She continued desperately. "Just let me know what I've got to do and I'll do it! I want to help!"

Slowly, languorously, the stocky, bulky beast form Lance’s portal straightened from its hunched posture, its grotesque head swiveling to and fro as its glimmering eyes took in its surroundings. Standing beneath the sun, the creature rumbled deep in its throat, metal tubing and plating shining alongside demonic horns as its muscular arms swung gracelessly dozens of meters over the marshy earth. Steam hissed and drifted from every square inch of its superheated being, the humid Florida air dissipating before the behemoth, water vapor from the nearby cove evaporating on its spiny hide. It was surreally, inexplicably out of place near the crystalline waters as it glanced downwards, one hand flexing claws and the mechanical gun barrel spinning and whirling.
Then Theraga bellowed, his clear voice reaching far over the sea, and to the creature before it. The spell broken, the cyborg looked down at its pair of challengers, leaning back into its hulking stance, a fanged smile crossing its brutish face. Within seconds, the deep gravelly communications of a shadow creature transmitted to all of the defenders nearby.
Greetings to the insignificant cesspool of human knowledge and weaponry known as Imar sciences!
The cyborg seemed eerily, inappropriately calm for a creature of its appearance as it spread its gun and palm, sneering at the reptilians before it. I am sure you are all aware of the reasons for my presence here. You humans and your creatures are threats, you see.
Weapons around the headquarters continued to click and hiss, loading and activating in preparation for the imminent attack. If the cyborg was aware of the locking firepower, it made no indication of it. Yesss…indeed, threats. Monsters that can be seen as threats by the painfully, blissfully ignorant multitudes of your society. Equal powers wielding forces that could be viable threats to each other should you have the intelligence to know the bliss of tyranny. Threats to your irritably inane peace, threats to your resources, threats to the environment you call your own. Perhaps even threats to my underlings, numerous as they are…that in itself warrants my presence here. Make no mistake, however…they are but insignificant specks of dust to my god…
The gun arm raised, licks of flame lashing from its barrels to mirror the hellfire from the beast’s eyes. …AND THEY ARE CERTAINLY NO THREAT TO ME!!!
Before this last roar had fully faded, the gun arm flashed and carelessly began shifting from side to side. Flashes and pops emanated from the launcher, sending one ordinary-looking – albeit kaiju sized – missile in each direction. The first smashed into an intersection between the many warehouses, kinetic impact pulverizing several blocks of structures, those nearby crumbling to dust and splitting away. Cracks and an impact crater were visible in the tarmac for a moment beneath the shower of earth clods and cement before the massive detonation occurred. Flames burst from beneath ground zero; the floor was torn from its natural moorings for a circle almost a hundred meters in diameter, fire gushing into the air above all kaiju heads. Searing liquid splattered outwards from both the apex and base, tidal waves easily enveloping buildings and coating what little greenery remained in the urbanized area. A second explosion subsequently echoed throughout the cove, having struck a larger structure further in the distance. As the collateral damage and inferno spread far beyond the initial strike, sending humans scurrying for cover, the cyborg stepped forwards again, sluggishly crushing another trio of warehouses beneath its feet.
However, it had no more time for its rampage, as Theraga came trampling up, bounding over a series of still-standing structures. Like a linebacker, the cyborg hunched over, its sole arm in a ready position, claws extended, to meet the crashing force of its challenger. It gave not a grunt as the gray-and-oynx protomammal crashed into it, the pair locked together and snarling into each others’ faces. Theraga rose up on his hind legs, foreclaws latching onto the shadow beast’s shoulders as he pushed. In response, the other ground its talons into the crusty, burnt dirt beneath it, refusing to give its own ground.
The furious grapple was prematurely ended, as Theraga suddenly gave a pained growl, his hands and body scorching and burning where it made contact with the hellbeast. As the pain intensified, his hide crackling red where it touched his foe, he started to withdraw his grasp, but to no avail; the gun arm wrapped around his back, as the large claw clenched firmly onto the white mane on his back. The alabaster hair began to smoke, turning black in the first, as Overkill lifted Theraga off the ground, dangling him several dozen meters off the ground. TO MY GOD, I AM KNOWN AS OVERKILL…
The livid face leaned close to Theraga’s, but before the heroic kaiju could react or snap back, a red-hot gun barrel slammed into his abdomen, knocking the wind from him and pressing firmly into the flesh. A massive detonation tore from a point within the monster, sending chunks of flesh flying outwards, but not much more was visible within the fireball that washed over Theraga’s and Overkill’s front sides. Napalm sprayed over the flailing limbs and the earth defender’s back, his entire form jolted upwards from the concussive force, barely maintained within his tormentor’s grip. Before he fell again, his convulsions were renewed as a second pair of shots were pumped directly into his stomach, virtually engulfing the pair in flames; a third jolt of his protruding tail and lower legs signified a third duo of blasts from the twin gun.
The fire and smoke cleared to reveal Theraga dangling limply in the cyborg’s grasp, burnt chunks crumbling from his obscured front side, flames still running across his scorched frame. The crimson eyes flashed again, ignoring the burning liquid streaming over its own body, as it nonchalantly hurled the protomammal outwards, sending him gliding several hundred meters to crush more structures beneath his mass. …I HOPE I LIVED UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS! A Satanic roar of laughter ensued.
Overkill’s jubilation was promptly shut off as the slimmer Suchodon rocketed from the bay dozens of meters from its back, shooting low like a rocket and smashing his entire body weight and tail into the back of the demon’s legs, beneath its center of gravity. The creature rocked, but its hooves merely drove deeper into the rapidly spreading charred ground beneath it, stabilizing it firmly as it heavily pivoted, reaching out with its claw. ARE YOU ANGRY, LITTLE ONE? DOES MY RAGE FUEL YOUR OWN?
Nimbly, Suchodon spun to the side, staying at the creature’s back, lashing out its lower legs again with his tail as his razor-sharp claws swung at the rear of its thighs. Multiple score marks appeared on the thick hide, as even the powerful weapons of a fellow kaiju failed to penetrate the defenses. The chimera was forced to pivot and dance aside again as Overkill took another step on its hoof, clutching wildly outwards. The massive claws glanced across the smaller guardian’s tail as he moved, but Suchodon evaded yet again, ending up behind the cyborg and raking his claws along the length of its back, ignoring the searing heat. IMPUDENCE!
The claw reached behind its hip again, but as Suchodon danced opposite it, the beast suddenly slammed its foot down, stopping in mid-pivot. Simultaneously, the gun barrel straightened on the opposite side, nearly clipping Suchodon’s head as it fired point-blank into the ground before the chimera’s path. Fire and concussive force blasted him off-balance as Overkill twirled around to catch his prey, the claw clamping around the lengthy neck as a hoof narrowly avoided stomping a foot to a bloody pulp. YOUR RAGE FUELS MY OWN!
Lifted off the ground in a manner not dissimilar to Theraga, Suchodon was held out at arm’s length, writhing and spitting as he struggled to hurt his tormentor. In response to the flails, the muscular fist tightened, clenching the reptile’s neck in a firm grasp as he began to be strangled. Steam wafted up from beneath the fingers as the first continued to clench and twist, gripping tighter and tighter each time, throttling the mighty beast with demonic strength. A pained gurgle escaped Suchodon’s throat; his powerful tail slashed out, ripping up the earth to swat against a metal knee, while his legs kicked out fruitlessly against the chest orb. A strangling finger shifted to a higher position, scorching its new contact and revealing the crisped flesh below it. Suchodon’s arms raised to his throat, and in response Overkill began to draw the chimera inwards, bringing up his spiked metal knee at the same time. It slammed firmly into the abdomen, knocking what little breath remained from the reptile and sending a gush of blood from the throat. HAAAAAAAAAAAH!
With one last squeeze for good measure, the claw clenched as tightly as possibly, crunching Suchodon’s fried neck between it and holding the chimera more tightly. Ichor oozed up from between the fingers, running down the hand in conjunction with blackened, crispy flakes of hide. With its stronger grip, the cyborg began to swing Suchodon like a man holding a raw chicken by the legs, bringing the meat of the body – and the stomach – back down towards his rising knee, repeatedly slamming the hard metal into the reptile’s gut at an exponentially increasing rate. Each blow sent another gush of foam and bile from the serpentine mouth, and on the fifth strike, Overkill lifted Suchodon back up to eye level, body still flailing, lower and central torso badly battered and leaking, and brought his gun arm down in an overhead strike. The smoking barrels crunched firmly deep into the center of the chimera’s skull, immediately beginning to scorch the head again as a tidal wave of internal fluids and a tooth gushed from the mouth, the former evaporating on the fiery torturer’s body. Suchodon’s eyes widened for a second before tears and blood alike gushed from around them, obscuring them in a colorful veil.
Sending dark laughter ringing through the minds of all present, Overkill slammed the limp chimera to the ground beneath his feet, throwing back his head to roar triumphantly as he planted his fiery foot upon the still-struggling defender’s back. DO YOU STILL HATE ME NOW? CAN YOU FEEL MY PRESENCE THROUGH THE SHROUD OF YOUR AGONY?
From around the base, continuous beams of energy lanced out, the size of pins to the bulky kaiju, but those in the area already trailing over the beast’s frame. Thin, scorched valleys were burnt into the limbs, browned trails drawn over the plate armor, over the chest, across the face. A split-second later, swooshes came from the land and sea, both surface-to-surface harpoons and surface-to-air Sparrows trained on the massive target. Exhaust trails came from every direction, curving to smite the demon upon its head and limbs, tiny explosions bursting over its frame, a constant flow six or seven at a time, leaving burn marks on the kneecaps and elbows, forehead and abdomen. Below, in the areas around the beast still standing, men and women felt the earth-shaking reverberations as massive rounds passed overhead, the railguns opening fire, blurry streams of shells ricocheting and bouncing off the armor and hide to leave small dents, running up the body’s length.
Overkill removed its foot from Suchodon’s back, and there was a sudden, frenzied push of firepower, missiles from further back in Imar arriving concurrently with the nearby burst, and for a few seconds the entire demon cyborg was literally obscured beneath the raw weaponry, a dozen beams scoring its features from every direction, high-velocity shells spraying it from all angles, and scores of swirling missiles filling the air in between. The cyborg drew its arms in for a second, then hurled them outwards, catching the series of explosions with a roar, stomping forwards amidst the defenses barrage. THE BUZZING OF FLIES!
Furiously and without aiming, the beast began to fire missiles at a regular pace, each barrel discharging one after another. It pointed its arm from left to right, causing fiery detonations to blast up on all sides, its arm not quite matching its rapid rate of fire. Some missiles were discharged straight up into the air as its arm moved around, but even those arced downwards, blowing away the roofs of warehouses and shattering the few important structures between. Firing almost whimsically, passing over some areas then returning to fire directly into the gap between two obscuring gouts of flame, Overkill expended several moments tearing back into Imar. Larger exhaust trails in the opposite direction now began to match those coming back towards the cyborg, as fire blasted up around it. Some of the beams and railguns were silenced, but several more still came from further back in the horizon.
Overkill’s barrage halted for a second, the light in its eyes dimming, granting false hope of a momentary defeat before its gun whirred again, the cyborg straightening to point its weapons at the larger structures in the back and the origin of more defenses. One, two, three…beginning from the right side, the beast slowly moved its arm along, firing pairs of missiles that vaporized entire portions of the buildings in the background, a brief pause between each shot, ending with six double missiles that streaked across the sky, decimating a half-circle around it. Flames burst sky-high; the blasted, blackened ground ran with wildfires and trails of magma-esque napalm, turning areas not directly struck by missiles into living hell.
And between the fires and carnage, Theraga stood again, the previous crater in its chest visible to coat its entire upper body, blood oozing up between the smoldering embers embedded in the ruined, charred, blistered flesh. It gave a defiant bellow as another chunk of flesh peeled off, crumbling to the ground, sparking a grin from Overkill. YOU WANT MORE? YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS SHROUD OF APOCALYPSE I HAVE WOVEN?
Another step forwards on both parties’ sides, the shadows raising their gun once more. NOW…THEN I SHALL BE YOUR MERCIFUL GOD!
Theraga, seeing what was coming, threw his arms up to protect himself up as Overkill carelessly pointed its gun, beginning to fire pairs of missiles once more. Flames burst out as he blocked the first pair, but the cyborg would not be satisfied there. Another pair of shots…then a third…and a fourth…and finally a fifth all ensued, twin blurs streaking across to strike the defending protomammal, the creature obscured by fire after the first trio of shots. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!
As the fire cleared for the umpteenth time, Theraga laid on his back again, blasted off his feet by the repeated concussions. The lower portion of his arms that had absorbed the impact of the blasts had been torn almost completely away, bone visible beneath with the charred sinews and tendons still barely hanging on, blood gushing from both arms at the intact wrists and elbow areas, his body coated with napalm and smoking once more. In the chaos, a girl cried out.
Embers continued to rain from the blackening sky, and with another chortle, Overkill slowly began to step away from the downed Suchodon, slowly starting to lumber inwards towards the center of Imar. REALLY…REALLY…? GET UP, OR I SHALL MAKE YOUR MASTERS SCREAAAAAAAAAAM!

Jason places his thumb and index finger on the bridge of his nose and lets out a sigh. Before he can say anything, a powerful explosion shakes the building and everyone in it. “Alright, fine. I’ll show you to the base weapons room, okay? No way in hell are you getting in a mech.”
Caitlyn nods and Jason hurriedly leads her to the control room for the base’s numerous defenses, several large explosions rocking the base as they go. Once there, he points her to an empty seat. “This is for two of the beam cannons. It’s simple enough to operate, just keep an eye on the temperature so they don’t overheat.” Not waiting for a response, he quickly leaves for the main control room.
Caitlyn looks over the controls for a couple moments to figure them out, then cracks her knuckles. “Alright, let’s do this.”
Shortly afterward, Jason enters the main control room and walks up next to Neil. He sees the image of the gigantic monster on screen, lumbering deeper into the base as Suchodon and Theraga lie motionless behind it. “Well... shit.”
Neil glances over, having not noticed Jason walk up. “The hell have you been?”
“Caitlyn insisted on helping with defending the base. I put her in charge of a couple beam cannons.”
Neil simply turns his attention back to the monitor without responding.
---
Suchodon still isn’t up to 100% from the battle in New Orleans a week ago... and now this behemoth is tossing him around like a rag doll. He groans and gets to his feet, shaking away the cobwebs. Overkill is heading deeper into the base, its back turned on both of its opponents. Mistake.
With a snarl, Suchodon launches himself at the massive kaiju. He pounces on its back, making it stumble forward from the impact as he slashes down its back with both hands before quickly leaping back off to avoid being hurt by the creature’s body heat. Overkill roars in a combination of pain and rage from the attack as he spins around and fires a pair of missiles, but Suchodon is much too fast and is already well out of the blast radius. A moment later the beast roars in pain again as Suchodon’s rip into its flank, tearing another trio of deep gashes. Overkill’s hide may be tough, but even it isn’t a match for the reptile’s claws. Learning from the last time the Suchodon tried this tactic, Overkill spins in the opposite of the expected direction to catch the chimera off-guard. The reptile is a cunning foe, though, and had anticipated such a reaction, resulting in Overkill swinging at nothing but air.
Now thoroughly enraged, Overkill begins firing wildly. “STAND AND FACE ME!”
Another strike, slicing open the beast’s calf and making it drop to its knee momentarily. Suchodon lunges for yet another attack, but doesn’t expect his foe to recover so quickly. Overkill’s massive hand grips the end of Suchodon’s snout, covering his nose and keeping mouth shut with the powerful, burning grip. The reptile reacts immediately, frantically clawing at the arm while trying to pull away, but to no avail. He watches in horror as the monster slowly raises its missile arm and points it at him.
“Now... DIE!”
Just as Overkill is about to fire a pair of missiles at point-blank, a searing pain suddenly shoots through his brain, forcing him to release Suchodon. The reptile stumbles back, shaking his head to try and rid the burning feeling from his scorched and smoking snout. He then looks up at Overkill, whom is likewise stumbling back as the base’s LRADs blast him from all directions with high-intensity sound. With his foe disoriented, Suchodon makes another lunge.

Theraga staggered to his feet as Suchodon impacted against the demon. Overkill shouted defiantly as the crocodilian chimera raked his claws across him before pouncing back, repelled by the intense body heat. Loping towards the action, Theraga lifted his head and roared to draw the monster's attention. Keeping a gun trained on Suchodon, Overkill turned and roared at the approaching challenger. "Back for more, foo-"
A swirling black orb interrupted his speech, blowing up in Overkill's face. The demon staggered sideways, firing his gunarm but missing Suchodon by a longshot. The volcano missiles crashed into an abandoned warehouse, throwing napalm and debris in the air but failing to harm either kaiju.
As Overkill stumbled back, Theraga raced forwards and lept into the air- but the demon had recuperated far sooner than anticipated. Bringing up his left arm, he slammed a scalding fist into Theraga's side, throwing the protomammal sideways. As he crashed into the ground and rolled, Overkill stomped closer. "Filthy, stinking, MAGGOT!" He snarled, wiping his mechanical jaw. "Feel the Death God's embrace and WEEP!"
Theraga launched himself off the ground, jumping backwards as Overkill slammed his hoof into the space his head has occupied seconds before. He snarled before charging again, jumping into the air and turning sideways. Striking the beast with an aerial body-check, Theraga sent Overkill reeling.
Landing on his feet and immediately charging a shadow blast in his mouth, Theraga whipped his head around and released. At the same instant, Caitlyn pulled the trigger- firing one of the beam cannons. The beam soared through the air just as Theraga fired his shadowblast, striking Overkill's chest simultaneously. The combined explosion threw the demon off his feet, forcefully knocking him over in a cloud of dust.
YES! Caitlyn thought aloud, grabbing a lever and aiming the second cannon. Theraga glanced back at the base in acknowledgment and bounded off, circling the rising cyborg and standing by Suchodon. Meanwhile, Caitlyn prepared both beam cannons. Now let's see if he wants seconds...

…TRASH… The double-barreled gun stabbed forcefully into the burnt earth, sending up a firestorm of ashes as the cyborg heaved itself back up to its feet. With blood oozing from Suchodon’s lacerations down its back and notable damage from Theraga’s blast on its chest, Overkill straightened, its chest heaving, its bumpy, ridged back rising and falling as it stood hunched before its foes. With what appeared to be an extreme effort, it ripped its arm from the dirt, blackened flakes of soot sliding down its length, and shook its trembling body. DIRTY…ROTTEN…TRASH! REFUSE, SLIME, SHIT NOT FIT TO LICK MY GOD’S FEET!
With a tumultuous, thundering roar, it straightened, throwing its arms out, its shaking not so much the product of its wounds rather than its rage. In response, Suchodon and Theraga tore forwards with battle cries of their own, smashing into the furious demon’s exposed form amidst the backup of dancing laser beams and missiles, railguns and sonic attacks already locking onto the scalding-hot monstrosity. Even Overkill’s immense strength was incapable of giving it enough traction to maintain its balance, and with an inarticulate bellow of fury, it tumbled backwards onto its rump, slamming into an amazingly unscorched patch of bay. Steam rose beneath it as the heroic kaiju, both swift learners, pranced backwards to avoid being scorched.
ARGH! The gun arm rose up, pumping out another pair of missiles fired vaguely at the pair of persistent targets. The cyborg’s aim was painfully off in its growing anger, its lower vantage point causing the projectiles to soar over the animals’ heads. To a backdrop of a loud explosion, the partners split and attacked again, coming at the straightening Overkill from both sides. One timely strike knocked out a supporting arm, causing the demon to fall back again, even as another attack raked its side, beginning as a score then managing to penetrate its thick hide. TEAMWORK!? TEAMWORK!?
The beginnings of a plan finally reached the anger-muddled mind, the cyborg drives its firearm back beneath the earth and fires several pairs of missiles point-blank into the dirt. The spray of ground coupled with the shower of fire and napalm forces its assailants to temporarily pull back, allowing Overkill to regain its feet. ALLIANCES…WHO NEEDS SUCH SIMULTANEOUS COOPERATION!? Several railgun shots ping off its metal plating on one side, and it snarls, pawing at the air and firing several missiles in the vague direction. THERE IS NO NEED FOR SUCH ALTRUISM! THERE IS ONLY POWER…
A combination of Imar’s lasers and one of Theraga’s shadow spheres smites Overkill upon the side of the face, spinning it around long enough for the protomammal to break into a headlong charge, slamming his thick skull into the center of the raging cyborg and sending it staggering back. In response, the demon repeats an old trick, wrapping its arms around the guardian and starting to crush him in a ferocious bearhug. Without two hands, it admittedly has less traction, but Overkill’s spiny, rough frame is painful on its foe’s already-wounded chest. …AND THE DEATH OF THE WEAKLINGS WHO LACK IT!
Before the cyborg can continue to tighten its arms, Suchodon bounds forth, tearing up the hybrid’s back once more, his claws finding the would-be locations of vital muscles on the lower legs. YOU WILL REGRET THAT, BEAST! There is a thunderous crackling sound and flashing of red light beneath Theraga’s obscuring, steaming body, and with a howl, the cyborg throws its arms to the sides, leaning back as far as it can go, almost at a forty-five degree angle. Before the protomammal can slip off the scorching body, a brief, rippling heat beam punches straight out from under him, easily penetrating his already burnt and battered front side and punching a circular hole almost through his back, along with a shower of fried flesh. The kinetic force propels the creature backwards, through the storm of firepower to crush some of the missiles’ origins beneath his broad – and now marred – rear.
Overkill makes another hulking pivot and fires its pairs of missiles blindly, but in aftermath of raining fire, it is clear that Suchodon has easily evaded unscathed. The cyborg’s grotesque head swivels from side to side, searching for its target, but all it senses is another spurt of pain as the chimera strikes it from the opposite side, from where it had blasted Theraga. WHY DO YOU MAKE THIS GAME SO DIFFICULT? YOU ONLY RUN LIKE THIS BECAUSE YOU LACK POWER! Its fury overriding any actual planning, the cyborg once more creates a makeshift eruption, firing into the ground and gaining itself some breathing room.
Before the smoke clears, it raises its gun arm and storms forwards at the silhouette, firing one missile alternately between each barrel at the chimera. The attack is telegraphed far in advance, and Suchodon is easily capable of evading the first three shots, each of the reptilian titan’s comparatively lithe sidesteps creating massive tremors. The last and closest duet of shots still miss, one each slipping past the chimera’s sides to detonate at his back. The lumbering cyborg by now reaches its foe, one grasping claw extended for Imar’s creation; without much hesitation, Suchodon dances backwards to evade the hold, only to stumble into the ever-growing pool of napalm behind him. While the fire fails to particularly damage his scaly feet, the distracting pain allows Overkill to put on a sudden burst of “speed,” lunging forwards just enough to clamp his hand around Suchodon’s maw once more. YES! YOU ARE ALL WEAK! WEAKLINGS!
The stumpy hybrid is overbalanced once more, but even as it slams to the ground its knees, Suchodon’s face smoking in its grasp, it hefts the chimera and begins to swing him above its head. One circuit, then two, and then a third, the creature held like a wrangled chicken with his legs swinging at the edge of the loop, before he is slammed powerfully into the ground before Overkill, literally driven into a deep impact crater and semi-buried, the shockwave flooring burning structures nearby. Simultaneously, the cyborg transfers its momentum forwards, bringing its gun arm smashing down onto Suchodon’s chest. The scaly flesh is penetrated, the edge of the lower barrel sinking into the skin, blood gushing outwards from the rattled beast to fill the insides of the weapon.
Overkill pulls back, shifting on the dried ground, and succeeds in jamming its gun halfway into Suchodon’s burnt and battered mouth before it is struck with searing pain from the LRADs once more. YOU DAMN FLIES HAVE A STING, DO YOU!? Its prey forgotten in its fury, the creature stands, throwing up its gun and firing wildly into the air. More fire bursts around the horizon, and some of the weapons are silenced. Ignoring the remaining pain tearing at its veil of pain, the demon glances down at the chimera struggling to its feet beneath it, and brutally overhands him with the gun barrel once more, striking Suchodon in the location of its previous head wound. This time, blood sprays from the eye sockets and maw of the creature in copious amounts, steaming up as it makes contact with the hot hooves of the cyborg. The heroic monster jerks and is thrown back down as Overkill bunches up its opposite fist. FOR EVERY STING OF THE MASTER, I WHIP THE SLAVE!
Continuing to fustigate the downed Suchodon, Overkill hammers a meaty fist onto his back, shattering scales and causing the chimera’s entire body to jerk. As his dripping mouth flies open with pain, a rising hoof finds its way in, plugging the orifice and quickly causing it to begin smoking. The gun barrel comes down on the other side, cracking a flailing limb furiously and causing a spray of ichor from broken vessels. Taking a step back, the cyborg now points its gun arm directly at Suchodon’s head, the tips of two missiles seen locking and loading in the openings, only to be knocked off balance by another shadow orb from behind.
It stumbles forwards a single step, its hoof sinking firmly into the flames and napalm behind Suchodon and catching it. As damaged flesh drips from the point of contact on its back, it bends for a second, a wide and wicked sneer spreading across its face, before it deliberately takes a second step, hovering over Suchodon’s lower neck for a second. A LARGE STING DESERVES A CONTINUED WHIPPING! Without any further delay, the cyborg brings its heavy weight and steel foot smashing down onto Suchodon’ slender neck, causing the hero to scream in agony, body jerking as the burning hoof shifts and twists, grinding the flesh to a pulp.
Now Overkill pivots to face Theraga, its spinning hoof tearing and pulping the remnants of Suchodon’s neck as it slowly faces the protomammal. Theraga glares back at the widening grin as Overkill’s gun arm, swinging from the momentum turn, casually fires its pair of missiles, one exploding on each side of Suchodon’s head. OVERKILL, REMEMBER? The rising explosion covers both the attacker and the victim, but the wide splatter area of napalm left no doubt that the chimera’s battered uppers had been coated with the painful liquid.
YOU DARE STAND TALL BEFORE ME? The only response to this triumphant bellow is another shadow orb, spinning forth towards the shadowed figure that works its way out of the pillar of fire. It connects with an intercepting missile, creating another detonation that rains sparks over both combatants and that obscures vision of both to dark silhouettes within a firestorm. AND THEY SAY ANIMALS ARE SMART! HA! WHERE IS THE COMMON SENSE OF THESE HUMANS AND THEIR FRIENDS!?
Through the rising fire and splatter of napalm beneath feet, Theraga’s movement can be seen, clearly approaching. A SLOW LEARNER! STUBBORNESS MAKES ME ANGRY, AND WHEN I GET ANGRY, I HAVE TO KILL! Once more, Overkill throws back its arms, revealing a spinning vortex of orange and red hues within its chest cavity. As the flames clear, Theraga too late tries to reverse the direction from his melee attack, only to get yet another crackling blast of heat energy from the cyborg’s chest that briefly strafes over his left arm and face. The beam easily punches through the hide, ripping a notable valley along the limb, blasting charred muscle into the air, blasting fire into Theraga’s mouth, and blackening much of his face. The protomammal is knocked backwards off of its feet, driven backwards and forming a rift with its flailing tail.
Overkill slowly follows in its wake. THIS TIME, STAY DOWN!!

Hyper, blasting a hole through a kaiju, even as a mini-boss, is illegal. Please fix it.

“Dammit, what are those gunners doing?” Says Neil with a growl. “Contact the DCR and tell them to focus all firepower on its wounds and eyes ”
“Yes sir ” responds one of the technicians.
Jason, meanwhile, is intently watching the battle up on the screen. As Overkill blasts Theraga with its heat beam a second time, he finally speaks up. “Hey Neil, doesn’t that thing look familiar to you?”
“Not particularly, why?”
“I dunno, I just feel like I’ve seen it before.”
---
Suchodon slowly stands up, fires raging around him as Overkill slowly advances on the downed Theraga. In an almost carbon-copy of a previous attack, the reptile charges toward his foe and pounces on its back, burying his claws in its thick hide. Overkill nearly topples over from Suchodon’s momentum, but just manages to keep his footing. Suchodon, meanwhile, tears away at the behemoth’s back, sending blood and bits of flesh flying as it stumbles forward and tries to shake him off. It’s then that he notices something. The creature is much cooler now! Taking full advantage of being able to stay in prolonged contact with his opponent, Suchodon shoots his head forward and slams his jaws shut on the back of its neck. Overkill roars in a combination of pain and frustration as he continues to try to remove the reptile from his back, but between only having one appendage capable of grasping and his oversized muscles reducing his flexibility he simply cannot reach Suchodon.
“GET OFF OF ME YOU SCUM!”
Still trying to dislodge the reptile, Overkill begins firing his missiles wildly, obviously none of them actually hitting Suchodon. After nearly a full minute with the reptile clinging to his back, Overkill throws himself backwards. Suchodon roars in pain as he’s crushed under the massive creature’s immense bulk. Overkill then rolls off the chimera and stands up before raising his foot to stomp the reptile’s skull in. Before he can, however, Suchodon’s powerful tail swings up and smashes against his side, knocking him off balance and making him topple over.
Suchodon quickly rolls to his feet and backs away. Overkill slowly rises a few moments later, the venom apparently beginning to take effect now. Suchodon readies himself to dodge as the monster raises its missile launcher, but the attack is prevented when numerous railgun bolts slam into the wounds on Overkill’s back. Without the monster’s thick hide to stop them, the projectiles are able to pierce deep into the muscle and make the kaiju roar in pain. Immediately after, a laser beam strikes it directly in the eye, making it cry out again and place its hand over its face.
With Overkill occupied by the newly-focused assault by the base defenses, Suchodon glances over to Theraga, whom is getting to his feet. He gives a quick roar to get his ally’s attention, and then another as he motions toward the water with his head. Theraga snorts and nods, understanding the reptile’s intentions.
With his vision now completely gone, albeit temporarily, thanks to hits from lasers in both eyes, Overkill stumbles around firing missiles in random directions. Suchodon is easily able to close on the creature and latch his jaws onto its organic wrist. He gives a solid yank in the direction of the bay before letting go to avoid a retaliatory blow. He continues to back up, roaring constantly to keep the monster’s attention.
---
These actions don’t go unnoticed by the people in the main control room.
“He’s leading it to the water.” says Neil, rubbing his chin. “Continue focusing on its eyes! Keep it blinded!”
---
As Suchodon leads Overkill closer to the water, the base defenses continue pounding away at the monster, blasting away at its wounds and firing lasers into its eyes. Theraga, meanwhile, is circling to make his own attack...

Theraga charged, lowering his head and then throwing his upper body upward, rearing on his hind legs and slamming his thorny snout into Overkill's jaw. The massive uppercut sends him reeling back, taking several frantic steps in the opposite direction. Seeing his foe nearer to the water, Theraga roared and pressed the attack.
However, Overkill's vision was beginning to clear. Glaring at the blurry gray shape heading towards him, he took aim and released a duo of volcano missiles. Theraga bellowed and jumped out of the way, but not quickly enough- the missiles detonated below him, throwing him sideways and splattering his underbelly with hot napalm.
Snarling in pain, Theraga hits the ground and immediately starts rolling, scraping his belly against the dirt and desperately trying to stop the burning. But, seeing his recuperating foe begining to move, Theraga clenched his jaws together and took to his feet. Fighting through the pain of the napalm, he raced across the ground, heading straight for Overkill. The giant demon lifted his gun-arm and growled,
"Come and try again, mutt!"
Theraga immediately loosed a shadow blast, sending a sphere of dark energy hurtling towards him. Overkill boomed with laughter and took aim, but the blast had not been aimed at his body. Striking the front of Overkill's gun, the blast collapsed and exploded, interrupting his shot and shoving his arm away.
Refusing to give his enemy any more time, Theraga blitzed and attacked. He took Overkill off guard, lunging at his upper body and slamming into him with all his weight. The shadow minion roared in protest as he toppled over- falling into the bay. Both monsters disappeared in the commotion, throwing water high into the air.
A moment later, Theraga burst out of the water and pulled himself on shore. His stomach smoking lightly, he turned around and hissed at the boiling inlet while Suchodon moved next to him.

(To keep things rolling...)
Theraga and Suchodon growl as the water begins to steam and boil. Suddenly, the towering form of Overkill surfaces and the behemoth stares down the two kaiju. Both Suchodon and Theraga are frozen in terror from the gaze... and fail to notice that Overkill's chest is beginning to glow.
"NOW YOU FEEL PAIN!"
A brief beam of heat smashes directly into the area between the two kaiju, and standing close to each other has left both vulnerable to the aftermath of the attack, sending the tag team hurtling away from each other. Overkill lumbers onto the shore, both kaiju still down. The juggernaut advances towards Suchodon and gazes down upon the downed creature. Suchodon looks up just in time to see the cyborg's mechanical hoof smash into his face.
Suchodon lets out no cry, for Overkill pins his face down into the ground. The hybrid thrashes around, but is unable to escape. Overkill lets out a wild laugh... but is suddenly cut off by a bellowing roar! Theraga leaps onto the hybrid and begins to slash at the beast's back. Overkill struggles to get the human ally off of him, causing him to release Suchodon. Suchodon howls and hops to his feet, now attacking Overkill from the front.
"BURN WRETCHES! BURN!"
Overkill's heat aura begins to intensify, searing both of the fighters off of him. Overkill roars and lifts his mechanical arm into the air and unleashes two missiles into the air. They both separate from each other and one hits Suchodon, while the other hits Theraga. The two kaiju bellow in pain as the napalm burns their flesh, while Overkill merely chuckles...

Roaring in pain, Suchodon bolts into the water to douse the flames. Once that’s taken care of, he immediately turns around toward the shore. Overkill is preoccupied with the base defenses and Theraga, so he doesn’t notice Suchodon carefully sneaking up behind him. Once in range, the reptile lunges and slams his jaws shut on the monster’s organic ankle. Yanking backwards with all his might, Suchodon manages to pull Overkill’s foot out from under it, sending the beast falling face-first to the ground. He continues to pull, slowly dragging Overkill back into the water, only letting go once momentarily to let the water cool his mouth down. The huge monster tries to resist, but loose sand doesn’t make for good grip. He then attempts to fire a pair of missiles, but Suchodon quickly moves to the side to avoid them, resulting in the missiles skipping harmlessly across the surface of the water before detonating off in the distance.
---
Inside the command center, Neil turns to one of the technicians and throws his arm out in the man’s direction. “Deploy the MADROCs!”
---
On the shore well away from the battling monsters, several of the scorpion-like mechs walk out of one of the hangars and stealthily enter the water.
Now over halfway submerged, Overkill begins to struggle more violently. He delivers a kick to the chimera’s head with his free hoof, but Suchodon manages to keep his grip despite the new cut the hoof’s edge leaves on his snout. Another kick comes a moment later, and this time he avoids it by letting go for a split second to move his head before biting down again. This process repeats a few more times before Overkill submerges completely.
With buoyancy now on his side and the sand even looser than on the beach, not to mention all the venom that’s seeped into his opponent’s bloodstream by now, Suchodon is able to make much faster progress. Within less than a minute, he’s pulled the monster almost to the mouth of the inlet. He releases his grip on Overkill’s ankle and quickly swims away, kicking up the sandy bottom with his tail in the process. Finally able to stand up, Overkill turns around and attempts to blindly fire a pair of missiles in the general direction the reptile went. What the creature doesn’t expect, however, is for the missiles to detonate the moment they exit the barrels. Not designed to fire underwater, the added strain simply rips them apart as they launch. Overkill stumbles back, only to be struck from behind by nearly twenty torpedoes. With a roar of rage, he turns around to face the direction from which the attack came. Of course, the MADROCs aren’t even close to him. They’ve remained near the shore, well out of harm’s way.
Meanwhile, Suchodon surfaces in the middle of the harbor to take a breath and check on his ally. Theraga signals he’s okay with a quick roar, and Suchodon responds with his own before diving back down.
Suchodon cruises toward Overkill as a second wave of torpedoes slams into the behemoth. With its vision obscured by smoke, Suchodon seizes his chance and quickly accelerates, swimming behind the creature and raking his claws across its back. The cyborg spins around, but Suchodon is long gone by then.
A moment later, the reptile slams into Overkill from behind at full speed. The monster stumbles, and Suchodon quickly pushes off its back with his feet. This proves enough to finish the job, and Overkill falls forward... directly onto three of the naval mines lining the entrance of the harbor. A massive shockwave blasts through the water as a total of 6 tons of explosives detonate. Tons of sand are thrown into the water and a 200-foot column of water towers into the sky.
Suchodon growls, streams of bubbles coming from his nostrils. Underwater is his domain. The water keeps the creature’s body heat within tolerable levels, and he can outmaneuver it even more easily than on land.

Theraga pawed at the ground, growling with agitation. The water was not his element, and after his trip to the Lawless Zone, swimming was the second last thing he wanted. The very last thing he wanted was to see a demon from a parallel universe destroy his new friends. Shaking his head and taking a deep breath, Theraga leapt into the bay. Plunging beneath the surface in a cloud of bubbles, he kicked his legs and descended into the murk. Through mists of dirt, he could see Overkill- standing on the bottom, his glowering eyes piercing the gloom. Suchodon sped around him, nimbly avoiding his attempts at attack. Diving down from behind, Theraga suddenly entered the fray, slamming the side of his head into Overkill's back. Bubbles poured from the demon's maw as the unexpected blow shoved him forward. Planting a hoof in the mud and righting himself, he turned to find another unpleasant surprise. Blazing through the water in a stream of bubbles, Theraga's shadowblast detonated on Overkill's chest and shoved him over backwards. The demon growled in protest, but hit the floor with an explosion of mud.
-----
Caitlyn watched the water intensely. Her hands glued to the control panel, she waited desperately some sign of activity. Dammit, guys... you know I can't help you if you're under water... Her eyes widened hopefully as a giant form violently broke the surface. She sighed, filled with mixed feelings, as it became clear the monster was Theraga, surfacing to breath. At least he's okay. She told herself. I hope...
-----
Diving down into the depths, Theraga charged towards Overkill. Lumbering to meet him, the demon planted a fist on his face, driving him away and forcing him to release precious air. Grimacing, Theraga shut his mouth and kicked harder, rushing back at Overkill and attacking before he could draw another punch. Lifting his head with as much force as he could muster while underwater, he delivered a ferocious uppercut that sent Overkill reeling. Losing his footing, he fell back into the muck- allowing Theraga to kick off his chest and paddle back to the surface. Yawning wide and refilling his lungs, he resubmerged and joined Suchodon underwater.
