(Dammit, I completely forgot about this.)
Hotspot growled and grabbed the sword, yanking hard on it and taking Lenneth off-balance, then slamming his front paw hard into her head, sending her skidding. Hotspot then turned his attention to Hakminra, tackling him and biting down on his shoulder.
A few blows from Hakminra loosened him, but he used a direct blast from his heat vents to pile on more damage and stop the momentum.
Hotspot then flipped off Hakminra, and charged at the recovering Lenneth...

Lenneth saw Hotspot coming in, and slammed her fist into his face as he did so. The blow sent him hurtling back toward Hakminra, who turned his staff into a sickle, landing a nasty, deep cut that gushered out lava.
Hotspot rolled away and rose to his feet, unleashing an Aura Blast that knocked both combatants back, but only for a moment. Hakminra unleashed the Power of Ra at Hotspot, blasting his shoulder, and stunning him long enough for Lenneth to land another blow with the Claymore.
Hotspot, staggering now, leapt in desperately at Hakminra. Too desperately in fact. He left himself wide open for a power-packed punch from the mighty Lenneth, followed by a laser blast from Hakminra.
The numbers game had finally started working for the two, and Hotspot knew it. He roared in rage and frustration. This was NOT how he envisioned this battle going! He planned to raze the battlefield, engulf it in a sea of flames, to watch his two enemies burn alive. But now....now he was doomed, he knew this to be true.
The enemy was working too well together, there was no way he could defeat them......unless...
Hotspot snarled, then smirked. What sounded like laughter came from his mouth as lava-like drool dripped from his chin. He started glowing brighter, and vegetation within a hundred feet of him caught fire.
Hakminra felt it too. The heat was nowhere near unbearable for the mighty Egyptian kaiju, but it was enough to feel. Inside Lenneth, Natalie was busy running scans on the enemy, the results of which made her stomach sink.
"He's going to explode!" she cried. The scan showed a buildup of enormous heat within Hotspot, heat that was about to reach a critical mass within less then a minute. Natalie knew that the resulting explosion would incinerate everything within a large area, but if she bolted now, she'd make it out of the danger zone.
But what of her ally? He'd fought side by side with her, saved her from harm on more then a few occasions. Could she really just leave it here to die?
No.
Activating the boosters, Lenneth rocketed toward Hakminra, hooking her arms under his, and then kicking into overdrive, flying away from the area as fast as she could. Hakminra, while confused, seemed to know something was wrong, and allowed himself to be carried by Lenneth.
Klaxons blared within Lenneth's cockpit, warning Natalie that Hakminra's additional weight was bogging Lenneth down and putting too much strain on the boosters, but she ignored them. Either then both made it, or neither would make it.
Hotspot's body now glowed a bright white. Had it not been a harbinger of outright incineration, it would have been beautiful. As it was, Hotspot reached his critical mass, and exploded in a mixture of unreal heat and Shadow Energies. The shockwave of the explosion slammed into the fleeing duo and tumbled them violently back to the ground.
But they made it...if just barely.

"Warning. Damage levels critical. Halting combat operations. Emergency power only."
Natalie groaned as she listened to the computer drone on and on. Everything seemed fuzzy and insubstantial. Her forehead felt most, probably from sweat. However, when she wiped it away, her hand came back red. Her stomach turned on itself as she fought her rising gorge. She knew injuries could occur, hypotheitcally, but the sight of her own blood...
"Lenneth, this is HQ, do you copy? I repeat, this is HQ. Do you copy? Over."
"Yeah...yeah, I copy."
"We detected a massive explosion. Has the target been neutralized?"
"I...think so. Everything's kind of fuzzy right now. I might have hit my head..."
"We'll send a recovery crew out ASAP."
"Good idea. That thing melted a lot of armor to slag. Watch out for the other critter too, the mummy. I think it's not hostile, but you never know."
"Affirmative. We're sending recovery crews now."
And with that, Natalie switched off the radio and almost passed out from a combination of exhaustion and adrenaline overload. She never noticed Hakminra leave, nor did she hear the approach of choppers.

Hakminra was still confused as to what had just happened, but the evidence around him made him draw the conclusion that Lenneth had just saved him. The mech seemed innactive now, and Hakminra thought something had happened to it. He nudged one side of the machine with his staff, and when it remained still, he thought. He thought it was dead, and therefore decided to leave the scene. The chimera bowed in respect, he was sorry it had to end like this, although in truth Natalie was alive. He would have his revenge on the Darkness. He would do anything to have it. He would journey to all ends of the Earth to get it.
The smoke was clearing and started to reveal the sunset, which was leaving a beutiful glow on the surrounding mesas and desert floor. Hakminra watched for a few moments before continuing his quest.
