-Monument Valley
A rift in dimensions opens... and through it steps a small figure. It is Lance Erobern; corrupted by the influence of the Death God... yet nobody is around to see him. He looks up in the air and waves his arm through it. Suddenly, a massive portal appears, and through it steps a massive beast. The creature looks down at the small human, and raises its head high into the air, letting out a terrifying cry, almost like laughter.
"Hotspot... born from Bujoqora and Valcanus... I command you, in the name of the God of Death... DESTROY!"
Hotspot let out a terrible cackling cry, and set off, ready to burn the land as Lance leaves through the portal whence he came.

Hakminra, who was now fully recovered from his Grand Canyon incidents, had been traveling through Arizona for some time now. On his journey he had destroyed several military squads, which allowed for him to be in a fighting mood. The Egyptian had reached the top of a hill a good distance away, when the three largest mesas in Monument Valley came into sight. They looked nice there, standing as the tallest objects in the area. Hakminra took in the view for a moment. But, suddenly the rightmost mesa's side started to crack. The cracks were then filled by lava which then oozed out of the massive rock formation and onto the ground.
Hakminra was completely ready to destroy whatever was causing it, for it had ruined the view. The chimera grabbed his staff with both arms, and useed telekinesis to fly in closer. The cause was soon revealed when Hotspot stomped on the ground, causing a rift of lava to open up. A tourist's jeep was pulled into the lava, instantly killing him. The death of the innocent was another thing Hakminra would get his revenge for. Hakminra went unnoticed, until he shot the ground with the Power of Ra in front of Hotspot.
The evil beast let out another cry and prepared to fight. The desert floor started to crack in various places and lava flowed out. Hotspot was indeed powerful, but will be beaten...

Yet another round of combat air patrols seemed like it would end in nothing more than an uneventful round trip for Natalie. Things all over the world were going to hell, but there was only so much she could do about it.
"Lenneth to HQ," she called out over the radio. "I've finished my sweep. Now returning to base."
"Affirmative, Lenneth. Hang on...stand by for further orders."
Natalie cocked her head quizically, but maintained her flight path for the moment. Something must have happened. Apparently, the folks back at base couldn't decide if it was bad or not. Finally, they contacted her again.
"Lenneth, this is HQ. A new portal has been detected in Monument Valley. Your orders are to investigate and engage as necessary. Now sending target coordinates."
"How bad is it?"
"We don't know. Energy levels are higher than most of what you've been fighting, but not more than the one to tackled in the LZ. We're also detecting a large amount of heat in the area, more than usual. It might be nothing, but we still want you to investigate. Riptide will not be accompanying you. Davidson reported some kind of mechanical failure and has already returned to base."
"Gotcha. I'm on my way."
The mechanical valkyrie swung through a wide arc and headed towards the new target zone. As she neared it, long range scanners were already registering the increased levels of heat emmanating from the area, as smoke blotted out the glaring sun. The machine landed nearby and surveyed her target. The thing looked like some kind of lava lizard, with thick, stout legs and a short, spikey tail. Steam and smoke alike poured from the vents in the creature's back. Lava dripped from the cracks in the monster's stony armor and sizzled on the desert floor. Although she had never seen it before, it still looked strangely familiar.
Then, she saw it. A second monster, like some kind of humanoid spider wrapped in bandages, brandished a large staff at the other monster. She had no idea what she was supposed to be targeting! Then the volcanic monster bellowed and sent firey columns of magma bursting from the ground near her current position, and she hazarded a guess as to which one she was supposed to hit.
"Alright, you want a piece of me, you can have it when you pry it from my cold, dead, hands," she said as she gripped the controls tighter. The mummy kaiju seemed ready to fight the lava titan as well. "The enemy of my enemy," she muttered to herself, as she leveled her sword at their collective enemy and prepared to destroy it.

The Dark Aura emanating off Hotspot could be felt by all in the area. The fearsome abomination looked at his two enemies....and smirked.
Galloping towards the two, he made his first attack, using his heat thrust ability to propel him forward and slam into Lenneth, toppling her over and super heating the armor. Hotspot quickly unleashed an Aura Burst when he saw Hak' Mihn Ra moving in to assist the downed mech. The surge did intense damage to her, and slammed Hakminra back as well.
Leaping off Lenneth, Hotspot roared happily at the fires already burning in the area. Like his "parent" Volcanus, Hotspot had an urge to burn everything, to see the entire planet consumed in an ocean of fire. And what better place to start then here? And what better fools to use to fuel the fires then these two?
Hotspot leaped forward and slammed his front paw into Hakminra's face, toppling him over. As he prepares to slash at it with his large claws, Lenneth makes the save, ramming her fist into him and sending careening away.
Hotspot makes a quick recovery, and charges in again at Lenneth, looking for payback...

Hakminra returned to his feet, only to notice Lenneth's current position. The chimera's staff was still on the desert floor, so he used telekinesis to retrieve it. Hakminra acted just in time to save his current ally from Hotspot's attack. He bashed Hotspot to the ground, doing no damage, but saving Lenneth from him. The CEE mech returned to her feet, and readied to fight. Hakminra was also prepared to continue fighting. Hotspot let another evil cackle, signalling that his onslaught of firey torture was just beginning.
Hotspot charged at Hakminra, using his heat thrust to gain great speed. As the Molten Heckler came closer, Hakminra changed his staff to a giant battle-axe, ready to strike. Just before Hotspot rammed the chimera to the ground, he was hit by the axe, sending him to the ground again. A huge gash was created, spanning from the top of his head to the middle of the neck. Steam hissed out, followed by a river of lava, which flowed onto the desert. Hotspot acted as if he wasn't hurt, but in truth was in some pain.
Lenneth tried to bring her sword down onto Hotspot, but he dodged, ready to attack Hakmina again. The chimera was ready to strike with his axe again, and raised it up. Hotspot expected the same attack from him when he saw this. He was wrong. Hakminra brought the axe down, but at the last second, curved it around Hotspot's shoulder and sliced deep into his right leg. Hotspot collapsed on this leg, but quickly got back up and changed his attention to Lenneth. Hakminra didn't view Lenneth as a threat, since the mech was assisting him.
Hotspot launched an Aura Blast, focused on Lenneth, but sending both Hakminra and the machine to the ground. Both returned to their feet, although both were damaged by the attack. Hotspot cackled once again as he caused lava to flow out of the leftmost mesa. The 1000 ft tall rock formation was obviously his first target in the valley. It started to pour out of the sides like a waterfall, burning the ground beneath it and causing the mesa to slightly crumble. His target would have to wait though, for Hakminra laserd a large boulder off the top. He used to telekinesis to make it fall directly on Hotspot's head. The beast collapsed.
Hakminra allowed Lenneth to attack next...

Warning lights and alarm klaxons blared inside the cockpit as Natalie tried to maintian control over her machine. Armor integrity was holding, for the moment. That was good. If this thing managed to compromise the armor too fast, things might not go down so well. And the cloaking tech was working too.
"Good. I've been itching to try this out," she said to herself as she activated the cloaking device. Lenneth vanished from view as Hotspot whirled around in confusion, only to howl in pain as a massive bleeding gash appeared in his back, spurting lava instead of blood. Lenneth appeared moments later, hovering overhead, causing Hotspot to roar in surprise. But he didn't have time to react, as she slammed down fast and hard, plunging her sword through the monster's back, spurting more lava in great gouts. The desert floor was baking with patches of the monster's spilled blood. But still, he came on, relentless.
"Jeez, this thing won't quit," she shouted as Hotspot fired an Aura blast at her, which was deftly blocked by her Barrier Field. However, the beast had a high learning curve and fired a second one, just as the shield went down,, this one slamming home and knocking the machine backwards and dealing more damage to her battered frame. But Lenneth still stood, and that was what mattered.
"That tears it," Natalie shouted as she lifted Lenneth's arm and fired off the shield attached to it. The bladed portion slammed into Hotspot's shoulder before pumping out a massive surge of electricity. If this thing had any biological components (which she doubted it did), then they would be taking a hell of a beating. Lenneth yanked the shield out with the chain attachment, the shift in momentum causing Hotspot to tumble forward. As the shield re-attached itself, she charged forward, preparing to slice and dice some more with her sword...

Hotspot quickly turned his back to Lenneth and unleashed a blast from his vents, striking the mech and tossing her back a good ways.
He then turned his back to Hakminra and tried the same attack, but he was anticipating this, and dodged, swinging at Hotspot again with his weapon. But the attack was to slow, and hotspot not only dodged, but took another powerful swipe at Hakminra with his claw, slamming him to the ground. Lenneth came in for the save, but Hotspot just unleashed an Aura Burst that washed over both his enemies.
He then leaped into Lenneth and knocked her to the ground, and superheating her armor again. Oh how miserable the little human inside must be! Hotspot smirked at the thought.

The claw marks from Hotspot's slash were leaking blood all over Hakminra's side. The chimera had to return to his feet, though, if he wanted to kill this evil creature. And he probably wouldn't be able to without Lenneth's help. Hotspot did seem more powerful than most kaiju, afterall. Hakminra shot up using telekinesis and transformed his staff to a mace, ready to strike. He flew over toward Hotspot, ready to free Natalie from being cooked alive in her mech/oven. He raised his mace, ready to strike the firey kaiju with all of his strength.
Just before Hotspot noticed the Egyptian kaiju's presence, he was smashed with the mace. A huge chunk of molten rock was peeled right off of his side, lava falling freely to the ground and landing with a sizzle. Hotspot roared in pain. But that roar became a cackle when he suddenly slashed Hakminra again. Hakminra was angered and in pain, but ignored it for now. Lenneth was now on her feet, and with the pilot cooled down, ready for action.
Hotspot prepared another amplified ram directed for Hakminra. The kaiju came running at him at full speeds. Hakminra sidestepped his attack and at the same time smashed him over the head. Hotspot collapsed, in horrible pain. The top of his head had lost its rocks. All that was left was a bubbling dome of magma. Hakminra's staff was now being turned into the double sickle weapon that he used in the Grand Canyon. He broke the two weapons a part from each other and prepared to do some damage.
As Hotspot recovered from the blow and prepared to fight, Hakminra was nowhere to be seen. Where he was was behind Hotspot, floating. Hotspot suddenly sensed his presence and swirled around to face him. Just before he attacked, Hakminra flew right over his head. He dug his sickles deep into Hotspot's back, ripping it up. With that done, he flew away in need of a cooldown. When he landed, he used an earthquake to temporarily distract Hotspot. It worked. Some of the cracks of lava in the ground gave way during the Earthquake, forming a sizable crater of lava.
Hakminra waved his staff toward Hotspot, signalling for Lenneth to fight for now...

Natalie sweated, more from tension than heat. Heat she could deal with, but trying to fight this thing was something else again. She knew that if she failed, things might get much worse for everyone else. How Ben put up with the pressure, she didn't know. On the plus side, at least she had an ally in this fight. Whatever this mummy thing was, it was friendly...sort of. Hotspot didn't seem to like it too much.
Speaking of which, the miserable volcanic beast was down, for the moment, as Natalie capitalized on the opporunity. She deflty struck with the sword, carving another massive wound in the beast's back. Lava sprayed like blood, but the NXT sheath on her sword kept it from melting. As Hotspot began to stir in preperation for a counterattack, Lenneth struck again, driving the blade though the monster's shoulder, almost to the hilt. Hotspot countered with another blast of fire, driving Lenneth back, but not before she could rip the sword free, widening the already subsatantial wound.
As Hotspot got back to his feet, Lenneth quickly slashed again with her sword, attempting to slice Hotspot's head clean off....

Hotspot ducked under the attack in the nick of time, and decided payback was a necessity. First, he had to take care of the partner.
Hotspot unleashed a heat thrust from his vents and propelled himself directly into Hakminra, knocking the Egyptian warrior down. Now for the other. Hotspot charged in, and wrapped himself around Lenneth, squeezing with his limbs and anchoring himself down. His extreme body temperature rapidly began raising the internal temperature of the mech.
The grass and trees all around them were set ablaze, and Natalie began sweating profusely inside the cockpit. Hakminra, who had shaken off the cobwebs, quickly made his way over for the assist. But Hotspot knew he'd try something like that, and with an insidious cackle, unleashed another Heat Burst directly at him, burning his body and knocking him away again.
The temperature of the cockpit was now getting unbearable, and Natalie knew the heat was approaching the limits of what a human being could physically endure. The controls were to hot to even touch, preventing her from mounting an offense.
Thankfully, Hakminra was able to recover quickly, and one strike from his weapon was enough to send Hotspot flying off Lenneth. Hotspot scrambled back to his feet and growled. Lenneth was take care of for now....

With Lenneth being out of Hotspot's way, Hakminra knew he was the main target now. He also knew that the creature was too powerful to use a direct attack without backup. For this reason, Hakminra waited for Hotspot to attack and hoped to counter it. His trustworthy staff was turned into the sword he uses so often, and he prepared for what was coming. Hotspot snarled and whipped his head to look at Hakminra with burning eyes. Hotspot suddenly charged up, and then released his aura burst, sending a wave of heat at both defenders. Hakminra was ready to get hurt. He would get revenge.
The chimera was sent flying back onto the highway that cuts through the valley, smashing the pavement. He was burnt, but still ready to kill Hotspot. Lenneth was still on th ground, the controls still too hot to touch. Hotspot suddenly started running toward the downed Hakminra at great speeds. He then used his heat thrust to go even faster. He reached Hakminra and prepared to bite. Hakminra raised his sword before Hotspot bit, and impaled his head. The minion roared in pain as lava flowed like blood from the wound. Hakminra returned to his feet and stood in front of Hotspot. He then used telekinesis to rip the sword out the top of Hotspot's head.
The blade was now glowing red from the heat, and Hakminra was baffled as to why Hotspot was still alive. Normally an attack like this would instantly kill a kaiju. No matter though, he would continue fighting until it was killed. Hotspot was about to bite again, when the sword was driven by telekinesis into his neck. The creature roared once more as the lava squirted out and sizzled on the sandy floor. He was hurt, but was still ready to burn the land. Hakminra grabbed the sword's handle and yanked it out. Hotspot tried to swipe his legs, but he dodged the claw by jumping over it.
Hakminra swiftly stepped to the evil kaiju's side and prepared to strike again. Before Hotspot could attack, Hakminra brought his staff down hard on his back. This created a huge gash in his back. Hotspot fell out of pain as a pool of lava formed around his form. Hakminra needed to let his staff cool down, so he stepped back for the moment. Lenneth's controls were cool now, so the mech had returned to her feet.
Hakminra was busy burrying his staff in the sand to cool it. Lenneth was ready to fight...

"Emergency coolant systems activated. Temperature is stabilizing."
This time, Natalie really was sweating from the heat. Hotpsot's volcanic fury was intense, so much to the point that it was making conditions in the cockpit unbearable. The atmospheric controls were having a hard time keeping up with it.
Still, the mummy had bought her enough time to recover, and she aimed to make the most of it. Laser energy crackled along the length of her blade as she surged towards Hotspot, slashing open a wide gash in its flank as she passed at high speeds. More lava spurted from the wound, but hardly seemed to slow Hotpsot down. But when he wirled around to fire back at her, the machine was nowhere to be seen.
As before, Lenneth was cloaked from sight, and she moved to strike again, this time punching the blade into Hotspot's shoulder. The beast howled as the machine withdrew, cloaking systems failing. Hotppot managed to nail her with another fireball, but this time, the machine's coolant systems were in full swing and Natalie barely felt the rise in temperature.
Lenneth's sowrd described another wide arc through the air, this time cleaving into Hotspot's neck. Lava sprayed from the wound, but still failed to fell the beast.
"Jeez! What does it takes," Natalie shouted as she fired off the shield blade again, hoping to hit Hotspot in the face with it...

Hotspot raised to his back legs, and used the front ones to catch the shield before it hit. With a wicked sneer, he yanked hard on the shield, forcing Lenneth toward him, opening her up for an attack. Hotspot clamped his jaws down hard on the neck of his enemy, letting the lava from his wounds drop down onto her armor, all while continuing to superheat the armor around the neck and head.
Again, Hakminra came to the rescue, but Hotspot was counting on this. He grabbed Lenneth and threw her right into Hakminra, the collision causing the intensely hot armor of Lenneth to burn Hakminra as she lay on top of him.
To add to their misery, Hotspot unleashed an Aura Burst near both his enemies, further damaging them. Hotspot roared, daring either of his foes to rise up against him...

Hakminra lay on the hot, desert sand, in pain from Hotspot's attacks. Lenneth's weight wasn't helping his recovery either. He would get his revenge, though. After all, he was made for revenge. And he had every intention to carry it out on the fiery demon. The mech was helped to its feet with a push from the chimera. He then used telekinesis to get himself up. Hotspot looked at the two. His eyes had the 'I dare you' look in them. Hakminra obviously accepted this dare, for he was changing his staff to a chain-like object with a claw at the end. Hotspot was ready to kill, and started to charge at Hakminra. The chimera readied himself for combat with the molten heckler. He held the the claw of the chain in one hand, and the handle in the other.
Just as Hotspot was about to bite Hakminra, the chimera levitated above the charging demon. Hakminra dropped the claw of the chain in the air. It caught Hotspot in the mouth while he was still running. Hakminra landed just behind him, and held the chain firmly. Hotspot didn't realize yet, but he was about to receive a painful slashing. Hakminra yanked the chain back with all his strength. Hotspot's head was thrown back as the claw ripped a large section of his jaws open. A large gash was formed across the rest of his face, too. Hotspot was very annoyed by the pain Hakminra had just caused him. He spun around and unleashed an aura burst.
Hakminra was overwhelmed by the heat at collapsed. He lay there for about ten seconds. Although the last five he was faking his pain. The soon to be tricked Hotspot came over to kill. Hakminra suddenly shot up and wrapped the chain around Hotspot's neck. The demon knew this didn't mean anything good. Hakminra pulled the chain back in one swift motion. It unraveled and cut the demon's neck the whole time. Lava shot into the sky from the wound. Hotspot roared as he tried to slash his opponent. Hakminra jumped over the claw and levitated a good distance away. Hotspot prepared to strike again. He got into a pouncing position. Hakminra was ready to counter.
Hotspot drew back further on his hind legs to gain distance in his pounce. Hakminra had changed his staff back into his favorite sword and was ready. Hotspot suddenly sprang out, leaving two puddles of lava in his footprints. Hakminra ducked and thrusted the sword up in perfect timing, impaling the airborn Hotspot. When he landed, Hakminra slashed through his body, creating a huge gash that went from his stomach to his neck. Hakminra ripped the sword out and backed off cause of the intense heat. The demon was down for now, so he was ready to get some recovery time. Lenneth seemed ready to fight, so Hakminra let the mech do so.
Hakminra floated to the top of one of the mesas. He would recover, and if needed, use telekinesis on his staff to provide air support...

"If I'd know what we were going up against, I bet they would have sent Riptide, mechanical failures or not. At least he's got heat shielding."
The temperature levels were coming back under control, although that did nothing for the state of the mech as a whole. Lenneth's armor, already black, was charred and melted into slag in various places. There wasn't any exposed circuitry, yet, but that was only a matter of time. and what was worse was Natalie was starting to fear this thing. She had an ally, and strong weapons, but more and more, the possibility of her own death nagged at the back of her mind.
Unfortunately, she had little time to dwell on that now, as the mummy was backing off, apparently to tend to his wounds as much as cool down. And with that, Natalie pushed forward on the controls, sending Lenneth into battle once more. Hotpsot roared, but was quickly silenced by a massive blade to the face, the laser charge cleaving through rock with ease. Lava spurted out like blood as Lenneth brought her sword down again, driving the point into Hotspot's shoulder before rocketing over the beast, tearing a massive gash in the monster's hide.
But Hotpsot was not deterred, as a volley of fireballs shot out of the vents along his back, blasting Lenneth out of the air and sending the machine plummeting to the ground in a heap. Smoke rose from the battered robot's armor, but Natalie managed to get her mech onto her back, before firing off the shield once more, striking Hotpspot in the shoulder before pumping him full of electricity. Hotspot roared as Lenneth retracted the sheild and stood, sword ready to tear Hotspot apart once again...
