Tyrantis was on the hunt, searching the mountains for suitable prey. Up until now he had been content to snack upon kyrill, but there was no challenge in pursuing them as a meal. True, they were fast, but as soon as a proper ambush was laid they went down easy. The large tyrannosaur desired something with a little more fight in it, like the armored dinosaurs he had hunted before his million year long hibernation.
After much searching he finally found such a creature. A large, armored herbivore that seemed almost like a relic from that forgotten age, Tyrantis had found a Duradon. The mammoth armadillo was calmly chewing some mountain grass, apparently unaware of the blood thirsty predator sneaking up behind him. Not wanting the fight to be over quickly, Tyrantis roared a challenge to his prey. The armadillo turned, saw the advancing carnivore, and quickly curled into a ball and rolled down the hill to safety.
Tyrantis thought the dinosaur equivalent of the F word before rushing down after the armored mammal, intent on battling it to the death. Throwing caution to the wind, Tyrantis leapt high into the air, landing right in front of his prey. Now sufficiently cornered, the armadillo had no choice but to fight him. Hissing, the plated mammal swiped at Tyrantis with its massive claws, much to the dinosaur's amusement. Prey that fought back! This was a novelty in this modern world. He almost wanted to let it live for showing such tenacity.
His stomach was growling, however, so he spat a fireball at the mammal. The Duradon squeal and quickly curled back into a ball. Tyrantis grunted and stomped on the shelled creature repeatedly until it finally unfurled itself, lying battered and bruised on the mountainside. Disappointment flooded the carnivore. While it was better than the kyrill, it still wasn't much of a fighter. With a sigh the tyrannosaur flipped the armadillo over and tore into its underbelly, eating it alive. He devoured the entire carcass, shell and all, then returned to his cave. Perhaps his next prey item would be more challenging.
