Myston had slept for an entire day, waking only to his gut violently growling at him, demanding food. He looked over his body. The many cuts, gashes and wounds that had adorned his body had finally stopped bleeding, and his body was covered in red markings. It had been a glorious battle, against the two most skilled fighters he’d ever faced. And they were still out there, somewhere. He’d face them again someday, but now he had to concentrate on recovering.
Myston grabbed several nearby fruit trees, desperate for sustenance, and shoved the tops in his mouth, stripping the leaves and branches as well as whatever fruits they were growing. Karmians were traditionally meat-eaters, but in times like this, Myston had no qualms whatsoever with eating plantlife.
Once he’d satiated his hunger, he entered a deep meditative state, focusing all of his willpower and spirit on repairing his severely damaged body. For two days, he sat, not moving an inch, the wounds on his body closing. He was not awake, but he was not asleep either.
Finally, three days after the battle, he snapped out of his trance. His body was in nearly perfect shape. There weren’t even any scars. Looking at him, one would never guess he’d just been in a near-fatal fight with two other creatures just a few days previous.
But again, he hungered. And this time, trees would not suffice. He quickly entered a river nearby and waited. Sure enough, within a few minutes, he felt a nick at his leg. A ravager fish was trying to make a meal out of him, but he quickly stabbed his hand in the water and caught it, bringing it to his mouth and biting down, killing the creature instantly. He threw the fish onto the shore, and then waited again. Another bite and another kill. Before he knew it though, a swarm of the fish were attacking, and he felt himself being overwhelmed. But Myston had prepared for this, and channeled energy into both of his hands, unleashing two Aura Discs at the same time, the energy attacks exploding and killing off a horde of the fish while scattering the others away.
Myston grabbed as many of the dead fish as he could and made his way ashore. Looking back, he saw the remaining dead fish being ravaged by their own brethren. Myston sat and happily began wolfing down his kills, glad to have meat back in his gut.
