Rygama was not in a good mood. For one, she was hungry. For another, she was bleeding. For one more, she had an enormous, ravenous turtle-esque monster dangling from her hip by its beak. And for one final irritation, a similarly large, mutated iguana was clamped onto her forearm.
As the sea monster emerged from the surf and headed for shore, she dragged her ludicrously persistent passengers with her, forced to walk in her hind legs as the iguana mutation prevented her from walking on all fours.
With a furious shaking of her body, Rygama attempted to dislodge her attackers, but to no avail. The turtle bit deeper into her flesh, spilling violet blood into the sand.
Rygama shook her hips more violently, but failed to remove the enormous vanguard.
Seeing no other option, Rygama stiffened up and promptly fell over onto her side, pinning the large malua under her arm. Finally, it released its grip and began thrashing. Now Rygama had to deal with the barbed, lashing tail that repeatedly nailed her in the hip.
With a furious snort, Rygama pushed off against the ground and stood back up, shaking sand out from between her armored plates.
The malua scurried further inland and turned to face its aggressor.
Rygama, now with both hands free, roared, grabbed the vanguard's face in her talons and manually pried it off of her, dragging strings of gooey flesh and purple blood with it.
She dropped the turtle onto its back, where its legs flailed helplessly.
That settled, she dropped to all fours and confronted the malua, roaring a challenging roar.
The hefty lizard snarled, advancing, its skin darkening in fury. It sprang, claws outward.
Rygama turned her head and swung it like a bludgeon, smacking the malua's skull with her own, knocking it aside, giving her an opening as it fell.
Parting her jaws, Rygama took a hefty bite, ripping through the lizard's tail, severing its spine and tearing it right off.
The malua scrambled to its feet as Rygama shook the still wriggling tail. Seeing the distraction as an opening, it sprang again, this time landing atop Rygama's back.
Unfortunately, she had dealt with enemies who tried this before. If Rygama could've grinned, she would have. With a grunt, she rolled over like a dog, pressing the weight of her spiny carapace into the malua's body, puncturing it like an iron maiden.
The lizard's screams became a gurgle as its body was shredded. Rygama completed her roll and gazed down at her bloody handiwork. She let out a deafening roar of triumph overhead, proclaiming her dominance. She then took the broken corpse in her jaws and headed back to the sea, pausing to nod at the upside-down vanguard as it continued to kick its legs helplessly.
