Nikolai opened his eyes after about two minutes. Warhead had been thrown pretty far from his original position, and smoke was pouring through an opening in the cockpit. As he arose, the pilot coughed until it cleared, at which point he saw the true devastation. His mouth opened slightly as he took it all in. Absolutely everything in the area was completely gone. The entirety of the world's largest city was wiped off the map. It was truly terrible.
"Dear Lord." He said to himself, awestruck.
Nikolai then noticed a blinking red light on the control panel, at which point he flipped a switch, turning on a screen on the left side of the cockpit. Vladimir Ilchov was on the other end, ready for a status report.
"Nikolai, are you alright?" He spoke calmly.
"I'm fine. Tokyo is not."
"I am avare. It truly iz sad, but you have to check if Varhead iz fully functional."
Nikolai brought Warhead to its feet, and continued to run the same kind of tests that Kevin had run moments earlier, proving that the mech was operating just fine.
"It iz vorking perfectly. I zink zat ze nuclear layer absorbed most of ze radiation. However, zere iz significant burn damage, but nothing to vorry about," The pilot responded.
"Affirmative. Ve'll be expecting you're return. Do svidaniye, Nikolai," and with that, the conversation ended, and Nikolai continued to survey the scene.
Orion had already left, and Nikolai didn't get a chance to thank Kevin for his help, but Darktide was still there. Nikolai patched his transmission to Ben.
"Zank you for ze help, it vas needed. I hope ve can team up again zomeday."
"Agreed. And thank you for your help," Ben replied.
With that, Warhead saluted Darktide before it took off, headed back to Moscow after one of the greatest battles ever fought.

Tarantutron's lifeless mechanical body had survived the destruction of Tokyo, shielded from the brunt of Blaradon's final assault by the rubble he had been buried beneath. It had been wiped clean off him in the final blasts, revealing the mechanical spider's body to the light of day. He would be recovered eventually, his body recharged and fixed so he could be brought online again. For now, though, the arachnodroid remained lifeless and limp, his inanimate body patiently waiting for the folks at Phantomb industries to awaken him again.

"Damage assessment," Ben requested, checking his body for any damage. A little whiplash, some cuts and bruises from slamming into the console, but nothing too serious. He would live, which was more than he could say for Tokyo. The city had been more or less wiped off the map in the explosion.
"NXT frame 100% compromised. 89% damage to external armor components. 46% damage to internal super structure. All weapons offline, all shields offline, all sensors offline."
"What about the thrusters?"
"Engines still operational at 45% capacity."
"OK. Prepare to get us out of here. If the radio still works, try to get in touch with HQ. Let them know our situation."
"Affirmative. Initiating power-up sequence. Please stand by."
The Orion and Theraga were being loaded onto transports and carried out of the battle zone. Warhead had departed already, although Phantomb's spider mech seemed a bit worse for the wear. But there was nothing he could do to help, not here, not now. The other monsters that had aided them were likewise pulling out. Most of them appeared to have survived the battle, which was fortunate. Something told Ben that they would be needed in the future.
"Engines now online. Auto-nav systems disabled, manual flight controls only."
"Wonderful. Looks like it's gonna be a long flight out of here."
And with that, Darktide began to rise into the air, smoke and sparks trailing from its battered and beaten frame. But the machine could be rebuilt, its pilot healed. The same could not be said for Tokyo. It would take decades before it was even safe to come in and clean up. The dark machine turned east and headed for home, leaving the smoking ruins of Tokyo behind.

As the smoke cleared and the defenders pulled out, save Tarantutron, few, if any, saw the horrible condition Solranous was in. The dragon had been thrown so far as to be on the outskirts of Tokyo, scales literally burned away, his remaining arm showing signs of bone underneath the flesh. The greviously injured guardian appeared unconscious, and would be proclaimed dead had he not a ragged, slow, pained breathing.
There would be no victory celebration for him...

Suddenly a large mound of ash burst open, showing a half plucked avian, at first it was hard to tell who this was, but as more of the dinosaur-esk body pulled itself painfully up, it became clear that this was Corvous.
The raw force of the blast as well as the fire, ripped his feathers from much of his body, though his wings looked mostly intact, besides the damage already done to them, that is. The bird knew he wouldn't be flying any time soon, he was going to have to get comfortable here and rest up, along with the other kaiju too wounded to move.
Corvous made a short cough to get rid of the dust in his lungs before laying down in a small nest of rubble, it wasn't home but it was the best he could do until his wings healed enough to take him from this burned out human city.

Musashi just stood silently as his allies all began heading away from the battlefield. He stood, a look of anguish on his face. The city was gone. It would never come back, not the way it once was anyways. Musashi could taste the poison in the air, and knew that it wouldn't be suitable for human life for many, many years. First Osaka, and now Edo.
He'd failed. Yes, Blaradon was dead, but he'd failed to save the city, and it's people. Who knows how many people were burned alive in that explosion. Musashi fell to his knees, and let out a mournful cry that could heard for miles. Standing back up, Musashi headed over to a body laying motionless in the debris.
Solranous. He looked dead. One of his arms were gone, and he was battered and broken. Musashi felt he could live with this shame no more. He had been summoned to destroy threats like this, and save the people, to protect those who could not protect themselves. He removed his armor, and summoned a Wakizashi, dropping back to his knees. Looking up, he saw a badly wounded Corvous watching him intently. Pointing the sharp blade at his belly, Musashi prepared for the horribly painful cutting motion.
But just before he thrust the blade into his gut, he looked back down at Solranous, and saw that blood was still shooting from the stub of his arm, which meant his heart was still beating, which meant he was alive. If Musashi acted right now, he could save him.
He made a decision. Perhaps he could salvage something from this failure. If it hadn't been for Solranous, Musashi would not have been able to strike Blaradon like he did when he absorbed his Ion Decimator. He OWED Solranous this.
Letting the Wakizashi slip back into the summoning dimension, Musashi quickly put his armor back on, and then scooped Solranous up into his arms. If he was to help him recover, he needed to get him away from the poison in the air. Musashi turned, and walked into the distance....
